Ryouga would be a VERY good candidate for ranma's dad. he is just as up on
martal arts as genma but he's not a theiving malodorous asshole. plus he
actually likes ranma a little bit. Also ranma being trained by Ryouga would
make him a more well rounded fighter (it would increase his endurance and
strength as well as speed)

this is asuming a couple things:
1) Ryouga could stay in one place long enough to train ranma (or take
Ranma with him)
2) Ryouga could get over the little problem he has with Ranma living (even
when he's trying to be nice to Ranma--as in the Hiryuu Shoten Ha
storyline--he ended up doing as much damage to Ranma as any of the other
characters)
of course even with these problems he's still a better parent than Genma
