    Just a comment -- it might work best if you semi-borrow from an old 
sci-fi story where a man finds himself sharing the same mind as his children 
(and his children's children...and their children...so eventually he'd make 
up the entirety of the human race, and marriage would get very weird, as he'd 
have to marry himself...) and set it up with being maybe a year after Ranma 
and Akane marry, and some accident happens so that instead of his son, it's 
Ranma who gets put into the coma...
