Now that's an odd thought. And easily mistaken for the whole Sailor Mercury.
After all, how could one person, become two? Who would search for the other
half of Sailor Mercury?

Hmm.  Lets see now.  One of them has water powers.  Maybe Akane could 
have shapeshifting powers.  I don't know how often I've said, "This 
situation calls for a gorilla with a bucket of water!" 

Wonder Twin jokes aside, if Ami and Akane each constituted "half" of the 
original Mercury, I rather suspect they'd have to touch or even combine 
to create Mercury.  Either that or Akane would faint every time Ami 
transforms.
