			Actually, Joanne, Akane WAS the person who drowned
in the Spring.
		A person need not DIE when they drown - all that's required
is that 
		their lungs fill with water at least once. *poof*, and you
are now
		officially drowned.

			Akane went under, drowned, and was given artificial
respiration,
		and recovered. But that was enough to make a Spring of the
Drowned Akane.

			Neat trick, no? So there you have it.

			That's the assumption everyone makes. There was a
fic I read where Akane really did drown and the Akane that went back to
Nerima was a Phoenix Mountain subject who was curse and then subject to the
magic ladle thingy.

		Make's you wonder? (Don't remember the name or author of the
fic though.)
