Why do you write fanfics anyway?
See below.
Anyhow, I just started it
for simple giggles, but the
response to my work created another reason-- the
pleasure and gratification I
get from the positive responses I recieve. (Ok, the
Ego-boost part wasn't
TOTALLY facetious.)
And it's fun! Writing strange and deranged FF is
fun! So is writing
not strange or deranged, too. If I didn't enjoy it,
I wouldn't do it.
Kenko
Kenko is right. I have written a lot of fanfiction
(almost all of it was for another show. I didn't start
writing Anime and Manga fanfiction until very
recently, so I don't have much done) and I too enjoy
the positive comments... of course, one has to deal
with the flames as well.
But more to the point, I enjoy it because I love
stories. I love reading them, and I love writing them
(although, with summer school and regular school, my
year is pretty filled up, so I have very little time
to write anymore ;p).
Writing is very gratifying in itself. Pushing yourself
to meet your own deadlines, and being your own boss
(well, most of the time ::grumbles at someone::) feels
great! Nobody who can tell you what to do (unless you
have one of those EEEVIL editors :::grumbles at her
english teacher:::).
A lot of times, I can get discouraged because
something I write seems silly and stupid, and I end up
deleting half of it (:::grumbles at her current
fanfiction:::), but that's ok.
Of course, this is all ramblings and makes little
sense, for I have long forgotten what my point was.
Heh.
Most of my writing I do for myself... mostly because
most of it is insane and nobody would like to read it.
But a lot of the time I enjoy writing for others to
enjoy, something that I am sure that most of you do. I
mean, I seriously doubt that anyone writes huge epics
just for their own amusement :::coughs, and you can
almost make out "Gaffney":::.
On another note, I would like to thank everyone for
two things:
A) Writing all of these wonderful stories that I can
trade in my sleep for,
and B) C&Cing my few "fanfictions" that I post on
here.
Oh wait, one more! C) Opening my e-mails and actually
reading them!
Thank you once again, and now, for your reward:
A BRAND SPANKIN' NEW SIG!

"Preachify me not, pompous plebian, thy poky presumtions are potty and thy precipitant preaching are prepostrous! Thou art but a pituitous poltroon, and thy obvious potvalience is betraying thy prevaricate manner. Mine preponderant power porkends thy fate, you palmacious peasant!"
"Palmacious?"
