Sorry, request denied. :) While I do favor the R-A matchup, I'm open to
any other one as long as it's done believably and everybody is kept in
character. Unfortunately, this one comes up far short in these regards.
Much has already been said, so I'll try not to repeat what others have
already posted.

One of the most important things I look for in a "resolve the
relationships" story is whether it treats all the characters fairly.
Even if someone is using all the pairings that I like, I still want them
to give the other people a fair shake. That means providing plausible
reasons for why they get taken out of the picture, not simply reducing
them to caricatures of themselves. If your relationship of choice is
truly a good one, surely you shouldn't have to resort to this sort of
cliche.

I'll also just mention that Takahashi-sama herself has treated the
Ranma-Nabiki relationship. Ranma 1/2 volume 17, parts 5-10. You can
download this story, fully translated and free of charge, at
<http://wei.dhs.org:8000/ranma/book17/>. It, IMO, should be required
reading for anyone who wants to pair up these two characters. You need
to come up with a plausible reason as to why the relationship between
these two characters is different in your story than in this canon one.
