Chapter 2: School Daze
======================

The next morning came up with a cherry hi-ho in Nerima,Tokyo. The sun
peeped out from the gathering storm clouds above the Tendo household.
A black-haired girl was making her usual morning jog,doing the standard
ninjitsu and martial arts exercises she had learned over time as she
ran. She was thinking about the events that had happened last night.

~Ranma is a person to respect,~ thought Yuffie to herself. ~Even if
he is a pervert and aquatransexual.~ She entered the dojo to hear the
sounds of fighting as she came into the backyard,she found Ranma and
Genma duking it out near the koi pond,dressed in sparring clothes.

Yuffie went to her room and checked her wares. She still hadn't figured
who to pawn the watches and jewels off to yet. All that stupid chaos
last night made her forget. ~Oh well,maybe later,~ she said,shoving the
drawer closed as Nabiki came in,yawning and stretching. The older girl
was still in her pink nightie,having just gotten up.

"I guess they are pretty good fighters," muttered Yuffie out loud.

The two fighters leapt into the air and connected above the koi pond,
exchanging a flurry of blows until Ranma was knocked into the pond with
a loud splash. "Ha ha ha," Genma said as he landed. "You're getting real
slow,boy! A real martial artist would..."

That was as far as he got before Ranma-chan appeared behind him and
sent him flying into the pond with a louder splash. Ranma-chan then
sensed something behind her and grabbed its arm,flinging it into the
pool as well. The person that joined Genma-panda in the pond was Soun.

"Oops!" said Ranma. "Sorry,Mr. Tendo!" She ran into the house.

Yuffie sighed and shook her head as Nabiki closed her mouth.

A little while later,arguing erupted in the household.

"Aw,do I hafta?" moaned Ranma,back in boy form.

His father,also back to normal,crossed his arms. "Since we are going to
be staying here for a long time,you have no excuse for skipping school.
Anyway,a real martial artist never skips on his education!"

"Hell,YOU didn't go to school," snarled Ranma.

"Ranma-kun," said Nabiki,coming in. "He's right. You will be attending
Fuurikan High with me and Yuffie." She smiled and left as Yuffie came
in,dressed in her school uniform and carrying her books.

"Where's sis?" asked Yuffie. "I usually walk to school with her."

"Not today," said Genma. "Today,you will walk to school with your
boyfriend,Ranma. After all,you are engaged."

"Hell no!" snapped Yuffie. "I'm not his girlfriend!"

"Hey,you think I LIKE this?" said Ranma in disgust.

Yuffie rolled her eyes. "Okay,come on!"

Yuffie looked at Ranma out of the corner of her eye and sighed. ~He
sure WALKS like a ninja,~ she thought as the boy did a balancing act
on the nearby fence. "Listen,I don't like being near you."

"Same here," said Ranma. "Stop looking at me as if this was MY fault!
This is all our goddamn fathers' fault!" He was rapped on the head.

"You have no choice in the matter,son!" snapped Genma. "You will marry
Yuffie and make her a beautiful wife!"

Ranma did a spin kick and sent his dad flying into the nearby canal.
"Go pester someone else,you old bastard!" shouted Ranma. He leapt off
the fence and ran off. "Come on,Yuffie. I'll race you to the school!"

Just then,a pail-full of dishwater fell right on his head and splashed
him,changing him to his cursed female form. She looked up to see an old
woman going back in with an empty bucket in her hands.

"Great," moaned Ranma-chan. "I can't go to school like THIS."

"Why not?" asked Yuffie.

"I was registered as a guy!" said Ranma angrily.

Yuffie shook her head. "Okay,I'll get you some hot water."

Yuffie banged on the door of the medical clinic. A nurse opened the
door. "What is it?" she asked. Yuffie told her. "Hot water? Okay,please
wait out here and I'll get some for you." She entered the building.

Ranma leaned on the wall of the alley with a disgusted sigh. This was
NOT the good beginning to a promising day at school! She then felt a
bony hand touched her shoulder. She whirled about and socked the skull.

"Oh,you hurt Betty-chan!" said the tall man with dark hair and specs.

"Ah...gomen ne,sir," said Ranma-chan,bowing. "You startled me."

"Oh,that's okay,she can be fixed up," chuckled the man.

Yuffie arrived with a bucket. "Here you go,Ranma,hot wa..." She froze
up when she saw the man,and suddenly blushed. "Ah...hi! I was just... 
getting some...water for my...friend here. Gomen."

"Gimme that," said Ranma,grabbing the water and hiding to change back.
After he changed back,he grabbed Yuffie and dragged her off.

"Sayonara,Yuffie-chan," said the man,bowing. "Come on,Betty-chan. I have
a wonderful tonic to cure what that horrible girl did to you."

Yuffie and Ranma walked along the fence. "So,who's the guy?" asked
Ranma as he turned his head to Yuffie.

"Oh,him?" asked Yuffie. She laughed nervously with a hand behind her
neck. "His name is Doctor Tofu,and he's the family doctor. He takes
care of all our aches,sprain,and broken bones. He's so cool!"

"He's a chiropractor?" asked Ranma. "No wonder he had that weird 
skeleton. Why did he just pop up like that? I almost decked him!"

"He's a bit eccentric,but he cares about me," said Yuffie,blushing.

"Seems like you are gone on him," teased Ranma.

Yuffie glared cold daggers at him,then stopped. "There's the school,"
she said. She leapt down. "Stay far away from me,okay? I don't want
anyone to know we two are engaged." She spat the last word out.

"Gee,thanks," said Ranma,leaping down as Yuffie ran into the gates.

Ranma reached the gates just in time to see the front doors slam open
and hordes of boys pouring out. They wore various sporting or fighting
gear. "THERE SHE IS!!" screamed a boy. "KILL THE ASSASSIN!!!"

Yuffie got a mischevious smirk. "Come on,show me your worst!" she said.
She felt like beating up a horde after the horrible events that had
occured this morning and last night. The horde swamped her.

"Give me back my watch,you thief!" #CRASH!!!#

"Die,ninja slut!" #KABOOM!!!#

"You will be destroyd by my--" #KAZING!!!#

Ranma watched as the boys screamed in pain as Yuffie punched and kicked
at them,sending them flying in all directions. She then pinned them to
the ground with a handful of shuriken and sighed in satisfaction.

"There!" she said. "That felt good!"

Ranma came up. "What's with the horde,Yuffie?" asked Ranma.

"Long story,don't ask," said Yuffie. Suddenly,a red blur flipped through
the air and Yuffie grabbed it deftly. It was a rose. "Oh no..."

"Ah,a withered lotus corrupted by rot,truly," said a male voice.

Ranma and Yuffie looked up to the speaker. Ranma was curious at the
male student with short brown hair,wearing a kendo outfit. He held
a wooden katana(bokken) in his left hand.

"'Tis the rotting lotus,Tendo Yuffie," said the boy,looking at her.
"Poor child,why do you continue these vile acts? Repent of thy evil
ways,my beloved Yuffie,and let me show thee love."

Yuffie rolled her eyes in disgust. "No thanks,Kunou-sempai," she spat.
She then grinned wickedly. ~Maybe I should hang him by the flagpole...~

Ranma came up to her. "Well,Yuf,you seemed to have gain some infamy."

"Get out of here,baka," said Yuffie. "You'll get hurt."

"What's happening,Yuffie?" asked Ranma.

"Don't ask,I'm gonna..." Yuffie started to say.

Kunou suddenly interrupted. "Dear sir,I must warn you about this evil
woman," he said. "She is a vile assassin,and only I can tame her."

"Vile assassin?" teased Ranma. "Seems like more of a tomboy to me."

Yuffie flushed. ~TOMBOY?! Kuso...!~

Kunou glared at Ranma and swung his bokken. "How dare you insult the
nature of the fair and beautiful Tendo Yuffie! Hai,she is an evil lady,
but even the most evil of ladies can be tamed by my hands!" He then
thought. "But it is best to introduce myself,is it not?"

"Hmm?" asked Ranma,cocking a brow.

Kunou ignored him. "Very well,I shall introduce myself. Captain of the
school's kendo orginzation,I am known to my peers as the Blue Thunder of
Fuurikan High!" #CRACK! KABOOM!# Lightning flashed and thunder rolled.

"...Tatewaki Kunou,age 17."

Yuffie slapped her forehead in disgust. ~Must he DO that?~ "I don't see why you bother. He's only staying with us."

"NANI?" said Kunou in anger. He glared at Ranma. "You lecher! How dare
you besmirch the Tendo name by living with the fiar Yuffie! I will smite
thee from this land and free my beloved from thy foul machinations!" He
swung at Ranma,who flipped out the way.

"I am Ranma Saotome," said Ranma in mid-flip. "Heir to the School of
Anything-Goes Martial Arts!" He landed before Kunou and tossed his
backpack to Yuffie and took his stance. "I accept your challenge!"
