Materia Girl: A Fanfic Crossover by Cosmic Knight
Chapter 2: Yuffie's Bogus Adventure [FF7/SM]

Note: This is set during the SMS series,and uses Catholic terms for the
Messiahs and Holy Grail. This is not to insult Catholicism;these terms
are mere mythology in Japan,which practices Asian religion. If you are
offended by the flippant use of these terms,please don't read this. :)

A woman with glasses and wavy blond hair walked down the hall of the
Death Busters' lab. She was visibly upset.

Someone had murdered Eudial.

Not that she minded. Hell,she LOATHED the witch. However,she wanted to
kill the slut herself! She had everything all planned,rigging Eudial's
car to go off a bridge,but now her plan was useless.

Someone ELSE had murdered Eudial.

She entered the lab where Professor Tomoe was. "Professor,someone... someone killed Eudial. I felt the energy as she died."

"I know," said Tomoe in worry. "Could our enemies have found her?"

"The Messiah?" gasped Mimette in horror. "Oh my God! We're doomed!"

"Ha ha ha," laughed Tomoe. "Don't worry. She's still inexperienced
after her awakening. If she could stop us,the Death Busters would
have been destroyed by now! Maybe we can get the advantage."

"You mean,awaken OUR Messiah?" asked Mimette.

"Hai," said Tomoe. "Mimette,you are to start extracting pure hearts
to feed to Mistress 9. In the meantime,I'll do some research on this
new girl and her powers. We must work together to stop her."

"Okay," said Mimette,bowing.

Yuffie was shocked.

Amazed,awed,impressed...but most of all,shocked.

~I did THAT?!~ she said as she saw the putrid pile of ashes which used
to be Mimette. She clutched her forehead. ~Whoa! That is some sort of
power! No materia could EVER rival it! And it seemed to have changed
my weapon into...an energy attack.~ She looked around at the room of
people. The flames had long since died out.

Just then,Sailor Uranus and Neptune came to her...and knelt.

"Messiah," said Uranus.

"You are the one who can stop the Silence," said Neptune.

"Eh? Say what?" asked Yuffie,sweatdropping. She found that she was STILL
in that gown and with those wings,which she discerned to be giant pastel
butterfly wings. "What's a Messiah,and what is this Silence?"

Pluto let out a cry. "NO!"

Uranus and Neptune turned to her. "What's wrong,Sailor Pluto?" asked 
Uranus. She had never seen Pluto THIS upset.

"This...this is all wrong!" cried Pluto. She scowled at Yuffie and then
came up and slapped her. "YOU THIEF! Return what is not yours!"

"Ah...you mean that cup?" asked Yuffie,waving her hands. "Wish I could."

Uranus grabbed Pluto roughly by the collar. "Stop it,Pluto-sama! This is
the Messiah,the one who will save our world!"

"No! This is NOT the Messiah," said Pluto angrily. "This bitch stole the
Holy Grail,which the REAL Messiah was supposed to have used! This girl
has changed the timeline in ways I cannot foresee now!" She broke free
of Uranus's grip and aimed her staff at the girl. "DEAD SCREAM!!"

That was the first time in Pluto's life that she had shouted the attack.
A giant orb of sonic power flew towards Yuffie,ready to vaporize her.

Yuffie flung her arms up and the attack stopped inches from her face,
shrinking until it vanished. Pluto sobbed and ran off.

"Puu!" cried Sailor Chibimoon,running after her nanny and friend.
Uranus and Neptune turned to Yuffie,then to the receding form of
their friend,and followed after Sailor Pluto.

"Ah...what's going on?!" asked Yuffie,scared and confused.

The other Sailor Senshi surrounded Yuffie. Mercury summoned her visor
and began to scan the girl with it,while Mars studied Yuffie intently.

~She is definitely not evil,~ thought Sailor Mars. She knew that her
sixth sense against evil energy would have activated if Yuffie had any
trace of evil in her body,mind,or intent. ~But she has some quirks. She
seems scared. I wonder what is bothering her.~

Mercury was coming to a remarkable conclusion with her computer and
visor;Yuffie possessed an inmeasurable amount of energy in her body.
The gems in her tiara were emitting remarkable energy too,though they
paled in relation to the Silver Crystal.

"Who are you?" asked Mercury and Mars in unison.

"My name's Yuffie Kisaragi," said Yuffie in a meek voice. She had lost
her nerve;she was scared of the new people with their short skirts. One
had almost KILLED her and she was afraid of all the others.

"Don't worry," said Venus. "We won't hurt you. We are curious."

"Yeah,you really dusted Eudial-sama," said Jupiter.

"That's true," said Mars. "You are amazing."

"We want to help you," said Sailor Moon. "Help you understand your new
power so you can control it. I don't know if you are the Messiah,but..."

Yuffie interrupted. "Messiah? What's that? What is this Silence?"

"We don't know much ourselves," said Mercury sadly. "All we know comes
from what Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune told us. They say that the
Silence is a cataclysm of some sort,and that you - the Messiah - are
some sort of god-like being who can defeat it."

Yuffie was aghast. "Me...a god?" she asked.

"We don't know," said Tuxedo Mask. "All we know is that the woman you
destroyed,Eudial,is a powerful witch from the Death Busters. She was
impossible for us to defeat,and you destroyed her."

Yuffie paled. She couldn't believe it. She had meant to kill the woman
because she had been attacked,but the power she used..."Who are you?"

Sailor Moon held out her hand. "I'm Sailor Moon,these are my friends."

One by one,the girls introduced themselves.

"Sailor Mercury."

"Sailor Mars."

"Sailor Venus."

"Sailor Jupiter."

"Tuxedo Mask."

"Ah...thanks," said Yuffie,smiling. "You'll help me?"

"Sure," said Mercury. "But first,you want to change your clothes and
get out of those wings. They are very conspicious."

"Okay," said Yuffie. She closed her eyes and envisioned her old clothes.
Her gown melted into light and quickly changed back into her former set
of tan shorts,olive shirt,hiking boots and long socks held up by straps,
headband,fingerless gloves,and the armguard.

She then noticed something - the wings had not vanished.

"Ah...I don't think I can get rid of these," said Yuffie sheepishly.

"That's okay," said Sailor Jupiter. "I guess we'll have to hide them.
By the way,you'll have to find a place to stay. You can stay with me."
She squeezed her earring and her fuku dissolved briefly into lightning
before reverting to normal clothing. "I'm Lita Kino."

The other Sailor Senshi changed back in similar fashion,introducing
themselves again. Sailor Venus was Minako Aino,Sailor Mars was Rei Hino,
Sailor Mercury was Ami Mizuno,and Sailor Moon was Serena Tsukino. Tuxedo
Mask introduced himself as Darien Chiba.

"Thanks," sighed Yuffie,hugging each of them.

Sailor Pluto was NOT a happy girl.

She was sobbing violently against the side of the archway as rain poured
down onto her hair,sliding down the long verdant locks. Sailor Chibimoon
came out first to mmet her. "Puu...why are you angry at the girl?"

Pluto didn't answer until a short while later. "She...she ruined 
everything!" sobbed the Guardian of Time. "She violated the timeline
by coming here and stealing the Grail! Now she's got the powers of the
Messiah,which is wrong! Sailor Moon is the Messiah,not her!"

Sailor Chibimoon gasped in shock. "Serena-onnechan is the Messiah?"

Uranus and Neptune,who came out,overheard this.

"Sailor Moon is...the Messiah?" asked Neptune in shock.

"What make you think that?" asked Uranus.

"I just...know," said Pluto. She sighed. ~Screw the timeline,it is
already screwed up too bad to see into.~ "Sailor Moon is the one who
will save...a girl. This girl in the future is going to become evil
and dark things will happen to her,and only Sailor Moon can save her
because she has a big heart. This thief...she has no heart. She only
cares about herself. I saw into her life,and found selfishness."

"I'm sorry," said Chibimoon. "I wish I could fix things. I could use
my Time Key and try to stop that girl."

"No,you might muck up the timeline even worse," said Pluto. She sighed
and turned to Chibimoon. "Gomen ne,Small Lady. I didn't mean to be so
upset,but when the timeline is royally screwed to when not even I can
fix it,things start to go wrong and you see your world fall apart."

Chibimoon hugged her tightly. "I am sorry,Puu. I wish I could help."

Sailor Pluto smiled and patted her head. "Arigatou,Small Lady-sama."
She looked up at Uranus and Neptune. "The Holy Grail has been absorbed
into this woman. She now has unlimited power. We must watch her warily.
If the Death Busters try to kidnap her,we must protect her."

"So,you admit she is the Messiah?" asked Uranus with a smirk.

"I admit nothing," said Pluto firmly. "I do worry about her. She is with
the powers of the Holy Grail,and the Death Busters will do everything to
get those powers from her,even at the cost of innocent lives."

Neptune nodded. "We will protect her,Pluto-sama."

Notes and Scribblings:

Hi. Cosmic Knight again. How do you like this fanfic so far? If you do
not wish to respond,okay,but I would love to hear from you! :)

Yuffie's wings come from the images of the Messiah in SMS,where it shows
the picture of a woman with butterfly wings. This story is a diversion
from the anime,where Yuffie becomes the Messiah...ah,sort of. Why she
gets the powers instead of Sailor Moon is related in later chapters.

The "grail absorbed into Yuffie" is a similar trick used in SMR,where
Reenie gets the Silver Crystal absorbed into her body and that is what
made her unleash the Moon Beam at times. In this case,the Grail's power
had a severe reaction to the materia around Yuffie and turned her into
a god-like being. However,whether she KEEPS the power is a mystery. :)

By the way,here are the names of the SM characters:
