Well,Jason,thanks a bloody lot. :P
Pardon me for saying so, but you are being awfully damned petty about
it. I haven't read the fic in question, nor any of your works, but
seeing how you react to a bit of negative criticism, no matter how
persistent or annoying it might have been, I now have no desire to.
Some advice, though: You are very much at liberty to ignore people
who persist in offering advice, comments, or flames you don't want. I
can't count the number of times I've mentally filed (or even verbally
filed) certain comments from FFML members, random web/net readers,
and even my own prereaders into the category of 'noted, logged, and
flushed'. In fact, I'm sure some of my own prereaders can remember
times I was less than polite in regards to this, that, or the other
point of contention.
The point is, you're not obligated to change a bloody thing if you
don't want to, and likewise, other people aren't obligated to
continue reading it if it bothers them that badly. If your fanfic
depends on a certain point that someone insists doesn't work, find a
way to *make* it work, and if it still doesn't satisfy them, tell
them to fuck off. It's that simple.
But blowing up and making a petty public statement like this...this
is not the way to endear yourself to your readers, or to fellow
writers. And posting the individual in question's e-mail address,
which I assume you did to incite people to flame this person, was
inexcusable. This isn't the recess yard at elementary school. At
least pretend to be mature enough to deal with this kind of shit in a
graceful manner.
