Materia Girl: A Fanfic Crossover by Cosmic Knight
Chapter 1: A Wu-Tai Ninja in Tokyo [FF7/SM]

Note: This is set during the SMS series,and uses Catholic terms for the
Messiahs and Holy Grail. This is not to insult Catholicism;these terms
are mere mythology in Japan,which practices Asian religion. If you are
offended by the flippant use of these terms,please don't read this. :)

Yuffie was bored.

Normally,this was not an uncommon state of mind. She had been bored ever
since the Meteor had been banished and Sephiroth had been destroyed two
months ago. It was easy to see the girl with short-brown hair and brown
eyes going into fits of boredom. She usually spent time wandering.

This time,it didn't help alleviate her boredom.

"Oh god," she muttered,sitting on a high tree branch. From her vantage
point,she could see a large earthen pit dug out in an inverse pyramidal
shape. She recognized the place well from her adventures with Cloud.

It was the Temple of the Ancients.

The FORMER Temple of the Ancients,before the android cat-moogle Cait
Sith removed the Black Materia from its resting place. Since the temple
and materia were linked in all aspects,removing the materia made the
temple vanish in a flash of black light. Now,all that was left was the
blasted pit where,two months ago - maybe longer - Cloud Strife had given
the Black Materia to Sephiroth and then beat the crap out of Aeris just
before he was knocked unconscious by a panicked Yuffie.

Yuffie shook her head. That had been long ago,when adventure filled the
air and promises of quick and easy materia had been made. Now,that was
all over with. The spirit of adventure was slumbering somewhere,and the
materia she had sough had become so easy for her to pilfer that it was
no longer needed "for the good of Wu-Tai",as she had told Cloud before.

"This sucks," she muttered,twirling her Conformer boomerang in her hand.
She had gotten it in a sunken airplane,the old Shin-Ra Gelinka. Now it
was nothing more than a bubble of air in the ocean,infested with insane
lethal mutated monsters called Unknowns. She sighed.

Not even the fear of death bothered her much anymore.

Yuffie was pondering what to do when something caught her attention. She
looked up at the pit which used to be the Temple of Ancients. Her frown
slowly twisted into a sinister smirk as she felt it.

The chance of an adventure.

"Maybe there is still adventure somewhere in this universe," she said.
She flipped off the tree she had been sitting on and ran to the temple.

At the same time,worlds away,a confrontation was taking place in an old
abandoned cathedral. In the main chapel,several women and a little girl
were gathered into four groups. Two groups consisted of only one woman -
one having long dark-green hair and carrying a staff,the other having
long blood-red hair and wearing glasses,a rifle-like weapon in her hand.

The third group also consisted of a single woman,a blonde with her hair
tied up in two buns with long tails coming from them. The last group
consisted of the little girl and several other females.

Most of the females wore abbreviated skirts with sailor fukus,especially
the verdant-haired woman,who spoke as she held up the staff.

"The last Talisman,the Garnet Orb,is in my hands," Sailor Pluto said.

The others gasped as they saw the dark red orb nestled in the staff's
head. The red-haired woman,Eudial,then laughed wickedly.

"Perfect," she said. "This is so convenient. That means I won't have to
waste my time hunting hearts for the Talisman. HAND IT OVER!" She aimed
her gun,ready to burn this woman to cinders.

Sailor Pluto scowled as she detached the orb from her staff and held it
out. "Evil hearts like yours will keep the Talismans!" The orb began to
glow with a strange red light. Eudial gasped as the Space Sword and Deep
Aqua Mirror rose up and fled from her grasp.

"Stop!" Eudial commanded,but it was no good. The two Talismans floated
over to form a rough triangle with Sailor Pluto. Sailor Pluto's tiara
vanished and a violet symbol - a 'P' with a line through the bottom -
glowed brightly. Shortly,two still bodies of two other women wearing
sailor fukus appeared before the sword and mirror.

"What's happening?" asked the blue-haired Sailor Mercury.

The Talismans flashed as two star-shaped crystals appeared and entered
the two women's bodies just as a young man wearing a tuxedo,top hat,a
cape,and a white mask came in and joined the spectacle.

"Their pure hearts..." said the brunette,Sailor Jupiter.

"They are going back into them," said Sailor Mars,a raven-haired beauty.

The two women opened their eyes and looked about,as if waking from a
dream. "The Talismans..." said the woman with short blond hair,seeing
the glowing sword and mirror. "They are here."

"There was no need for sacrifice after all," whispered the woman with
wavy blue-green hair. She took hold of the mirror,and the other woman
took hold of the sword as the others watched.

Yuffie's frown began to reform as she looked over the edge of the earth
pit. "Man,I thought there was something here," she muttered. Then she
saw it - a glint of something at the very bottom of the pit. "Well," she
said to herself. "You haven't lost hope yet,Yuffie girl."

She flung herself into the pit,sliding down the side on her feet. She
then lit up as she saw what was causing the glint. A piece of black
materia that shimmered like fine obsidian in the Corel desert.

"Yes..." she said wickedly. "This is it. My chance. This materia might
make me the richest girl in this world." She went over and picked it
up. "Hmmm...not very fancy,and doesn't look like it will fit in any of
the usual bracelets or weapons." She smirked. "But it's probably a part
of the very Black Materia which summoned Meteor."

She chuckled at the possibilities. She could show it to people and
intimidate them,saying that could bring destruction down on them...
She shook her head. No. That would not do. Sephiroth did that,and
look where it got HIM. No,she had to figure out another use for it.

She crouched down on the ground and began to think.

"The Talismans have such mysterious power..." said Sailor Venus as
the three Outer Senshi raised their Talismans up a bit. Then the
three relics burst into bright white light.

In a darkened room,a girl screamed in agony as she felt the holy
energy course through her body. Elsewhere,Professor Tomoe gasped
as he felt an earthquake. "What is going on?" he demanded.

Then the light faded and three beams of light shot from the Talismans,
intersecting at a point in the center of the triangle. A golden chalice
appeared. Everyone recognized it as the Holy Grail.

"Depending on who holds it," said Sailor Pluto. "It can lead the world
to doom,or salvation. The Holy Grail has unlimited power."

Eudial recovered and then laughed. "The Grail is mine!" she screamed,
firing her gun. Flames erupted from the end of the gun and filled the
room with fire. Sailor Moon pushed through the flames.

"You won't get the Grail,monster!" she screamed. Eudial blasted her
and ran to the Grail. Sailor Moon forced herself up and ran after her.

Yuffie then noticed that the piece of black materia was flashing with
light. "Huh?" she said,standing up. "What is this?"

With a lurch in her gut and a clouding of vision,she found herself in
a room filled with flames. "What the hell?!" she said,seconds before
she was caught in a tangle with Eudial and Sailor Moon. She looked up
and saw the Grail,then noticed that the materia was reacting to it.

A wicked smirk came across her face. ~If I get that cup,maybe it'll do
something to empower the materia!~ She kicked both women away and leapt
up,snatching the Holy Grail from the air. She laughed. "This is mine!"

Everyone was aghast at this girl appearing from nowhere and grabbing the
Grail,claiming it as her own. Eudial,however,was furious.

"SHI-NE!!" she screamed,firing the Fire Buster at Yuffie.

"AH! WATCH OUT!!!" cried Sailor Moon,covering her face.

Yuffie turned just as the flames struck her. Yuffie wasn't concerned
about the fire - she was wearing a Tetra-Elemental to absorb the attack.
However,the instant that the fire licked over the materia shard,things
happened that Yuffie was too stunned to prevent.

First,the materia shattered in fine dust which covered Yuffie's body.
Then the Grail opened and a bright white light poured out,surrounding
Yuffie. Yuffie doubled over in pain as she felt herself...changing.
She couldn't explain it in full,but she felt something emerging from
her back and her skin tingling. When it was over,she got up to see
everyone looking at her in shock. She then realized what was up.

She was no longer in her usual clothing. Her outfit now consisted of
a seraphic gown that went down to her ankles. She rubbed her forehead
to find a tiara with materia inset in it. Her Conformer was gone,now
replaced by a long ivory staff with a crescent-shaped head. But the
weird thing she felt were wings on her back. Later,she realized them
to be butterfly wings. She had changed into some inhuman being.

But most importantly was the power. She smiled as she felt the surge
of power pulsing through her veins,power that exceeded any materia
magic she had called forth from her mind.

She began to enjoy this.

She then glared coldly at Eudial,the one who had attacked her. ~This
must be some Shin-Ra assassin,trying to bump me off,~ she thought. She
grinned wickedly and pointed her staff at Eudial.

"Die," she whispered. One of the materia on her tiara flared with light
as a bright red column of fire blasted from the tip of her staff.

The last thing Eudial ever saw before being incinerated into cinders
was the wicked smirk on Yuffie's face.

Notes and Scribbles:

Hello everyone! Cosmic Knight here. I bet you are wondering why I wrote
this fanfic. Well,I was looking at the Convergence Project(a SM/CT fic)
and I thought about mixing up SM and FF7. Yuffie's my fave character and
I was wondering what would happen if she got the Grail. Well,this came
out. Little by little,the story will come out,mixing in other things.

Please,give me C&C,and allow me to continue this story,okay? For your
information,it's set in Sailor Moon S,starting with Episode #111. Ja ne!
