I'm off to Taiwan in just a few hours, and I'm tired. This will
be, as I said, quite quick.
	My first anime convention. Mmmmm. Went up with me buddy Vincent
Diamante.... It started off a little slow on Friday, wot with looking for
everyone and trying to get settled in. Watched a bit of a rather demented
magical girls show, Cybersomething Akihabara. I don't even want to try to
explain, except it rips off, ah-heh, that is, borrows many elements from
Pokemon to BGC. O.o;;;
	I did finally meet up with much of the gang from the FFML. By the
way, Alan Harnum and Sean Gaffney are just as perverted in RL, it seems,
although a bit less intimidating when viewed over the blade of a bokken
pointed at their heads. ;) Also met White Wolf, Jeff Hosmer (well, those
two I've already met before in person), Lara Bartram, Zen, Mercutio, Dan
Root, Stefan Gagne, Richard Lawson, Tim Miller, um, crap, I know I'm
probably forgetting someone, but I'm really tired. x.x Anyhow, Friday
passed without too much incident, really... although the piano concerto by
Kanno Youko-sama during the opening ceremonies was definitely one of the
highlights of the con. *.*
	Saturday started with a quick re-visit to the dealer room (sans
crowd, it was much easier to look around) and resulted in a purchase of
the FFTactics soundtrack, which is keeping me awake (enjoyably) as I type.
A good investment--and not SM, either! Yay. Next up was the fanfic panel.
Sean and Alan forced me to sit between the two, making me remain on guard
the whole frigging time. @.@ Otherwise, the panel was quite enjoyable. I
met some fans o' mine (I have fans! Wow!), talked about some elements of
anime, was threatened on several fronts to finish off Ejd 4 (it'll be done
when it's done! argh!), and listened to others talk a lot, too. Ah, and I
met John Biles and JD Farber, too. Had great fun talking with them during
and after the con. Ah, and Nick Leifker was there, too. He was later
skipping along happily outside; that unbalanced me slightly. Do not feed
him sugar.
	Especially don't feed him sugar if he's about to watch Kareshi to
Kanojo no Jishou/KareKano--His and Her Circumstances. It's the recent
Gainax production--their first shoujo piece, their first non-scifi piece.  
Why? 'Cos it is an fabulous, tremendous, excellent piece of work. *.*
Unbelievable. Everyone in the video room loved it. It was GOOD. I may seem
to be gushing. I can't help it; I loved it that much. We were all cheering
and applauding it. *.* Fantastic romance, great humor (including
slapstick, situational, dialogue driven, and so on), good pacing (doesn't
take fifteen eps for things to start moving; they start in ep 1)  
characters that are just lovable.... Anno's redeemed himself in my eyes. I
must get more. And so should you. Of course, perhaps watching it with an
enthusiastic crowd made it all the better, but still--minus that, it was
still a great experience, to watch it.
	Everything after that was pretty much anticlimactic. I was
seriously in a daze (and withdrawal) afterward for a couple of hours; I
wanted to steal the tape of the first four episodes and watch it over and
over again. Eventually, I found myself back at home, finishing off the
last touches for packing to go to Taiwan. And so, I'm off! I'll have
limited email access, and I'll do my best to check once a day. Well...my
first convention, and fanfic panel spot, too. Woohoo!
