Not true. Remember, the Giga Slave magic calls upon the most
powerful entity in not only the Slayers universe but also each ADJOINING
universe.
Actually I think I once read that L-sama created four different worlds.
(and that Dark Star was equivalent of Shabranigdo in one of them.)
But it was a long time ago, so I could be completely wrong.
Furthermore, in the novels she comments that when she
uses the Hikari no Ken, a weapon that changes willpower into weapon power,
her blade was longer than Gourry's, because she was used to using her
willpower as a weapon. Don't confuse greedy with weak-willed.
Yes, she's strongish in the mind. She can, for example resist pain rather well
(shown in the first series, when she casts a Flare Arrow while wearing a
headband that causes terrible pain when using magic) and has suffered through
a childhood with Luna, suffering who-knows-what. But, I don't think Lina could
resist the Ring long. IMHO her greed and tendency to cause grievous bodily harm
and massive destruction make her particularly vunerable. As does her dream
of once
owning a great castle, having lots of servants etc etc etc.
Indeed. Remember that the Ring is incredibly subtle and seductive.
Gandalf was terrified by the thought of keeping the ring because he knew that he
wouldn't be able to keep himself from trying to use the ring to save the world,
which would have let the ring take him over. As I see it, it's not just a
question of strong will, anyone who could use the ring for something besides
turning invisible would have to be a thousand times more strong willed. Anytime
they use the ring's true might, their opening themselves to the ring's
influence. And with each taste of that power they'll find it harder and harder
to resist the lure of using it again and again. Lina wouldn't last very long at
all.
And it's no big feat having more will power than the Jellyfish Head... ^_^
