(This was originally going to be an MST, but I didn't even bother. I
did, however, feel that at least one person--other than
Tybalt--needed to point out the folly of begging for fanfic award
votes on the FFML. With a little actual C&C on the side.)

Hello FFMLers.

Hello AOLer. (Apologies to all intelligent AOLers I just offended.
That'd be about three of you, right? ^_^;;)

Once again, this is an attempt to pick up some votes in the Ranma
1/2
Fanfiction Awards for the month of June. Voting is going on now
until July 15:

Big hairy deal. I don't think a lot of people really even *care*
about those awards. Usually they're more of a source of squabbling,
bitching, and grumbling than anything else. (RAAFers, remember the
infamous Hunter Kid incident?)

Please vote for this fic under the Mini-Series ballot.

Uhhh...no offense...

Actually, yes. Offense.

I hate to break it to you, but your fic is not, by any means, a
masterpiece. It's just barely a step above boring, and that's only
because there aren't enough decent Ranma/DB crossovers.

Unfortunately for you, this isn't even one of those. Not to mention
the fact that it's practically a ripoff of DC's "Dragonball R1/2"
series. (Which is FAR better in terms of writing, plotting, and
making the difficult crossover actually *work*. And I wouldn't even
vote for *that*, were I inclined to vote at all...no offense, DC...)

At one point in time, I might have...did, in fact...encourage your
effort. Now, seeing that you are only in this for popularity votes...

Well, again, I hate to break it to you, but you've demeaned yourself
for naught. Be honest with yourself here: what makes you think you
have a chance against Kenko's "Girl Days"? Or against the myriad
other very *good* fics on that ballot?

Don't write fanfiction if all you care about is winning the monthly
fanfic awards. You're missing the entire point of fanfiction. This
isn't a race, it's not a contest. It's a hobby, something we do
mostly for recreation.

Sorry for the rant folks, but it needed to be said.
