Here's my third part of the Pokemon-Sailor Moon contest! Note that
this takes place after SMS,with some minor changes to account for
the fact that the Outer Senshi are here and Chibimoon's absence. :)

** A Sailor Moon / Pok�mon crossover **

Narrator: Ash Ketchum, Pok�mon Master, travels with his friends to Tokyo
and meets the famed Sailor Senshi, who beat up Team Rocket. He repays
the favor by beating up a youma. Ash and his friends are now living
with Darien Shields while they gather the ten Cosmic Badges, and the
first is just a stone's throw away from the dead youma...

	      ** Part 3 **
BROCK: Red-Hot Fight at Hikawa Shrine
=====================================

The three trainers looked up at the oriental Shinto shrine. It looked
rather peaceful, with cherry blossoms floating down from the trees. A
beautiful obelisk was carved with kanji stating that this was the
Hikawa Shrine and the Cosmic Elite Gym of Cherry Hill.

"This is where the Aries Badge is," said Brock.

"This is easy," said Ash. "After all, I beat the Elite 4!"

"Don't be such a moron, Ash!" said Misty. "Lance warned us that these
ten trainers are far more powerful than us League Gym Leaders."

"Well, let's go," said Ash. "Come on, Pikachu."

A dark figure smiled as he watched in his crystal ball. "So," he said.
"This is the boy who defeated Medraga. Most interesting. Maybe those
stupid animals aren't as weak as I had thought."

He chuckled. He and two others had come together after escaping their
respective fates, thanks to the help of some foolish mortal who headed
a criminal orginization in China, sort of like a worldwide smuggling
ring. Now, in exchange for support to help slay Sailor Moon and her
pretty girl warriors, these three would aid this man and his minions.

The evil man and his two female compatriots had taken over Queen Beryl's
old castle in the Negaverse, reshaping it to their whims. Each of them
carved out a place of their own there, but they all agreed to work in
unison, as a trio of rulers over the new Negaverse.

The three Negawarriors worked together, utilizing the youma technology
of their respective orginizations, to form super-powered youma which
were extremely difficult to defeat. Even Sailor Moon's magic rod would
have serious trouble annihilating one of these youma.

However, the Pok�mon did present a problem to them. The biggest flaw
was that these creatures had a bit of luck on their side, and anyone
normal human of the right age could own one or more of these multitude
of creatures. Therefore, the three villians had to keep the number of
attacks small. This man didn't like such sneaking around, but he knew
better than to question his two female comrades,who had much more
experience than he. They had fought Sailor Moon after he had fallen,
and with these new warriors - Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto,
and Saturn - he had to be extremely careful.

He scowled a bit. Pok�mon trainers reminded him too much of Sailor Moon 
- capable of utilizing teams to attack their enemies, and the last thing 
he needed was an army of Sailor Teams. His frown curled back up to a 
smirk. He wasn't worried. He could take out an army of Pok�mon easily,
save for Mewtwo and the Legendary Birds, and few had seen these unique
mythical Pok�mon. Nothing else could harm him too badly.

He laughed evilly, and the laughter echoed down the halls. ~Come
and get me, Sailor Moon. You can't even reach me.~

"Whoa," said Brock. "This is such a beautiful shrine..."

A little old man with a shiny top popped out of a doorway. "Ho ho ho!"
said the old man. "Welcome to Hikawa Shrine! Are you here to get
a charm, or maybe you would like to have the guided tour?"

"Ah..." said Misty.

Rei came in. "Grandpa! Stop bothering these people!" she said angrily. 
"These are trainers who want to fight a Pok�mon match!"

"Oops!" said the old man. He laughed. "Ha ha ha! Silly old me." He
sauntered off, mumbling. "I remember when this shrine used to be an
ORDINARY shrine. None of these crazed beasts fighting in it."

"Sorry about my grandfather," laughed Rei nervously.

"You live here?" asked Brock in awe.

"Yep," said Rei, bowing. "You must be here for the Aries Badge. Follow
me." She led the three youths into the Great Fire room, which had been
converted into a Pok�mon battle arena. She then donned her belt.

"You are..." asked Ash in surprise.

"I am the Gym Leader of Hikawa Shrine," she stated, the Great Fire 
burning brightly behind her. "If you want this badge..." She removed 
one of her anti-evil scrolls. In the center was a badge that looked 
sort of like the Volcano Badge,but the flame was golden and it had the 
symbol of Mars inscribed in red metal on it. "...you must defeat me!"

"You're one of the Cosmic Gym Leaders?" asked Brock. "I didn't know."

"We were in the Pok�mon contest in China too,me and my friends," said
Rei. "You didn't see me,did you?" She flashed a smile.

Brock remembered seeing a raven-haired woman a few months back...
"So,you were in the League matches too," said Brock.

"Part of the Elite Leader training," stated Rei with a smirk.

[This is a shock!] thought Pikachu aloud. [Who would have known that
the girl who had visited us a little while ago...]

"Okay then," said Ash smugly. He pointed at Rei with a firm expression 
on his face. "I challenge you for the Aries Badge!"

Rei began to snicker under her breath.

"Hey, what's the big deal?" shouted Ash angrily. "Why are you laughing?"

"You think you can beat ME?" teased Rei. "Serena could run circles about
you, and that meatball head can't even throw a Pok�ball straight!"

"Grrr.." snarled Ash.

"Don't let her get to you, Ash," warned Brock. "She's goading you on."

"Why do hang around this loser anyways?" said Rei. "He's probably worse
than some people I know, ha ha ha!" She began to laugh again.

Ash glowered at her, plucking out a Pok�ball from his belt and expanding
it. "You want a fight, you snob!? I'll give you one! Come on!"

"I'm only saving you the humilitation of total defeat," warned
Rei with a smile. "Believe me, it's NOT a pretty sight."

"I will not lose to the likes of you," stated Ash.

"Fine," said Rei. "One Pok�mon each." She expanded her ball.

~Must be pretty confident to fight with only one Pok�mon,~ Ash
thought. "You think you are such a hotshot, are ya?"

"We'll see who's HOT when you taste MY fire, Ash baby," said Rei
with a wicked grin. "I CALL UPON THE POWER OF MINERVA!" She flung 
her ball to the ground, and it split open to reveal a nine-tailed
fox with orange-red fur that seemed to flow like flames across it.

"A Ninetales!" whispered Brock. Ash scanned it with Dexter.

NINETALES: A FIRE-FOX POK�MON. EVOLVED FORM OF VULPIX. THIS POWERFUL
FIRE-TYPE'S BREATH IS HOTTER THAN THE SURFACE OF THE SUN.

Ash gulped and wiped his brow in nervousness. "I knew I could scare the 
hell out of you, kid," teased Rei eagerly.

"I'm not scared," hissed Ash. "I know just the thing to put out your
flame! Squirtle! I choose you!" He threw the ball down.

It disgorged the blue turtle. "Squirtle!"

"Heh, you think that little terrapin can beat Minerva?" asked Rei.

"WATER will DESTROY your fire fox, Rei!" said Ash. "Let's fight!"

Rei's grandpa came out with a gong. "You know the rules, kiddies! I
hit this gong, you have one minute to beat up the opponent. The one
who inflicts the most damage in that time wins! Ready?" He struck
the gong,which echoed with a loud crash. "FIGHT!"

"Go Minerva!" said Rei. "Flame this turtle with your Flamethrower!"

"Nine nine!" said the Ninetales, blasting super-powered fire.

"Squirtle, use your Water Gun!" ordered Ash.

"Squirtle!" said the turtle, spitting a powerful gout of water. The
two attacks negated each other, but only barely.

"Beh," said Rei. "Minerva, use your Roar attack!"

"NIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!" roared the fox, which made Squirtle freak and run.

"Squirtle! Don't run away!" shouted Ash. "Resist it and use Skull Bash!"

Squirtle shook its head clear, then charged at Minerva. "Squirtle!"

*WHACK!* Ninetales was knocked back.

"Grrr...no more Ms. Nice Priestess!" snarled Rei. "Minerva, do the
Fire Spin!" The fox blasted a whirlwind of fire at Squirtle.

"Withdraw! Withdraw!" cried Ash frantically. Squirtle hid in its shell.

"Give it up, your water will vaporize under my fire," laughed Rei.

"NEVER!" screamed Ash. "WATER GUN,SQUIRTLE!!!"

Brock was watching the priestess commanding her Ninetales. "This
Ninetales sure has a wide variety of attacks," he mumbled, rubbing
his chin. "She must have trained it well." He was enraptured at the
woman's face,glowing with the fire's light. ~She is so beautiful...~ 

Squirtle fired his water geyser,but Ninetales took the assault.

"Impossible..." gasped Ash in horror. "F-F-Fire should have been..."

"Get a clue, kid," said Rei. "I told you my fire would win."

"I'm not down yet!" shouted Ash. "Squirtle! Use your Tackle attack!"

"Flamethrower," ordered Rei. The turtle was blasted into the wall.

"Poor Squirtle..." sobbed Misty, clasping her hands together.

"Now, finish it off with your Burning Mandala!" commanded Rei.

"Ninetales!" roared the fox, flinging nine lethal rings of fire at
the Squirtle. Ash screamed and dove on top of his precious Pok�mon, getting his clothes ignited by the flames. Rei slapped her forehead.

"AAAAAAH!!" cried Ash,running about frantically to douse the fire.

"ASH!!" cried the others.

"STARYU! WATER GUN!" screamed Misty. The starfish appeared and sprayed
water all over Ash's clothes,soaking him and putting out the flames.

"You IDIOT!" bellowed Rei. "What were you DOING?!"

"Protecting my Pok�mon from a CHEATER!" snarled Ash, wringing out his
sooty, soggy clothing. "You used an illegal attack!"

"Not really," said Brock. "We Gym Leaders enhanced our Pok�mon with
various attacks from special machines."

"Right," said Misty. "My Starmie has Bubblebeam."

"That's right," said Rei with a chuckle. "That's the Gym's
speciality attack, Burning Mandala. I based it off of Sailor
Mars's Celestial Fire. She's my idol, you know."

"Why...you..." snarled Ash. He got red in the face and mumbled.

"Since you interfered in the match, you are disqualified," said Rei.

"That's my girl!" shouted Rei's grandpa, waving some fans. "Way to go!"

Ash gripped his Squirtle ball in anger, unable to speak. What could he
do? "Squirtle, return," he said. Squirtle vanished into its ball and
Ash walked off dejectedly. Brock saw this and frowned.

"Poor Ash..." said Misty sadly.

Ash sighed as he sat on the edge of a small stone bridge, overlooking
the setting sun. He had taken Squirtle to the Pok�mon center, and Nurse
Joy had insisted on bandaging his wounds as well.

~Maybe she's right...~ thought Ash dejectedly. ~Maybe I don't really
deserve to be a Pok�mon trainer. After all, I DID win half of the badges
without defeat the Gym Leaders in battle.~ He removed the Boulder Badge,
Cascade Badge, Marsh Badge, and Rainbow Badge from his vest.

"I didn't deserve these," sighed Ash softly. "Brock and Misty gave their 
badges out of pity, and Sabrina didn't count. Erika was just a fluke."
He raised his arm to fling the badges into the water...

"No, Ash!" said Brock, grabbing his arm. "Don't do it!"

"What's the use, Brock?" sighed Ash. "How can I win?"

"No hot-headed priestess will knock YOU down long," said Brock with
a smile. "Look, I will talk to her and ask her about that attack.
You go back to Darien's place and get some sleep. You took a beating."

"You are right," said Ash with a nod. "Maybe I need to rest. Thanks,
Brock. You are my closest friend." He hugged Brock tightly.

"Hey, I look out for you, okay?" teased Brock. "Go."

Meanwhile, far above him, in a Meowth-head balloon, Team Rocket was busy. "So, this is the spot," said Meowth. "Hikawa Shrine."

"This place isn't very safe," warned James. "After all, the boss
said that the Sailor Senshi usually stalk here."

Jesse slammed a mallet across his cranium. "Fool!" She grabbed the
binoculars from Meowth, choking him. "This is a Gym, and any Gym
has to have lots of rare Pok�mon of some type!" She giggled. "But
not for much longer..." she sang. Meowth bit her ear to free himself.

"Heh heh," said Meowth, rubbing his neck.
