Some food for thought (for Pokemon fanfiction authors) ...

Okay, I just finished re-watching up to Electric shock showdown (on my break
^_^;;). Now when Pikachu and Raichu are battling (for the 1st time), and
Pikachu gets shocked really badly, but still wants to fight (Ash said to
return but it didn't),

Lieutenant Surge says: "Huh? It's pretty gutsy for a *boy*!"

Now that *could* be pretty solid proof for the english version that Pikachu
is male! (even though everyone usually refers to it as "it"). If anyone else
has doubts just watch that episode again. I rewatched that bit again and
again and I'm sure he said "Boy."

I guess that also means that Surge's Raichu was a female ^_^. Hah! Now I
have some more material to write in my fanfic. Woops, better not give any
spoilers ^_^;;

PS To Demented Otaku, concerning rule #4 it's not true that humans always
refer to all Pokemon as "it". I remember several instances where some were
called "he" and maybe "she" on my re-watching marathon ...
