By the way, Pokemon *is* a proper noun. You should ALWAYS capitalize
it.
I thought "Pokemon" was just a normal type of noun? You know, like
"people".
Pokemon are a species aren't they?
Of course, I can't verify the way they do it in the manga since every
letter
is in capitals *sigh*
Sorry. Lurker's correct. Anyone could have made that mistake. Don't feel
bad. I thought is was "pokemon" too. Nintendo Power magazine (the official,
and most biased IMHO) capitalizes it. Also, the manual for Smash Brothers
capitalizes it. I think the manual for the Game Boy game capitalizes it too,
but I can't find it. Interestingly enough, the Smash Brothers manual calls
that famous capturing tool a Poke Ball. Yup. 2 words. I'll have to check
other sources to see if it wasn't a typo like the word "eninvironments" on
the back of Zelda 64.

AlTHOUGH...if you think about it, Oddish is not exactly the most
useless Pokemon. Takes it a while to be able to do anything
especially cool, but if you play it right, you can kick some serious
ass with Oddish...
Yeah, I know that. Especially when it evolves or you teach it some cool
TMs.
But it was the weakest plant pokemon I could think of ... or at least
spotted on my chart of pokemon =P
Since this is based on the show, and not the game, you don't need to look at
stats as much as you do the coolness or cuteness. In this case, a
Madatsubomi/Bellsprout would suffice. I don't know if it's more powerful
than Nozonokusa/Oddish, but it's pretty vulnerable. I mean look at that
stem! In the game, it wouldn't matter, but in the anime, everything can be
used against a Pokemon. If one good attack hits that stem, the phrase
"Pokemon Snap" will take on a whole new meaning.
"Garina, Garina! She's our girl!" they called out with looks of
adulation
on their faces. "If she can't do it, no one ... *quick, what rhymes
with
girl? Sirl, lirl, dirl, curl? That'll have to do* If she can't do
it, no
one curl!" they continued. "Go, go, Garina!"
*whonk*
Oh, come ON. You can surely do better than this. Use some
imagination, for cryin' out loud. Did it cross your mind that instead
of trying to make the name 'Gary' female, you could use a rhyming,
genuine female name, and actually make it funnier?
Try 'Carrie' here. Carrie Oak. Think about it.
Well, I thought it would be cuter to just "feminise" the male names (and
vice versa). Also, in that way people who don't know all that much about
pokemon (or just a little bit slow ^_^;;)will be able to instantly
recognise
who that person is meant to be. After all, the main audience behind
Pokemon
is around from the mid-teens to below. At least from what I scrounged
around
on the various Pokemon fanfic sites.
However, I'll think on changing the names more completely to make them
look
more 'normal' or fit better.
Yeah, just go with Carrie. It sounds much better, and it fits.
MISTO!? UGH! Dude, what is with you? At least *try* to use your brain
when you do these names. You coulda called him Cloud, fer pity's
sake. Or Dew, or Rain. Or *something* along those lines...
Like I disclaimed at the bottom, it wasn't my brain but someone else's
^_^.
However, it *was* my brain that decided it sounded cute =P. You can jump
on
me for that.
*bouncybouncybouncybouncybouny* Okay, done jumping. Please, change it. With
a name like Misto, I couldn't help but picture a certain Rocket Gang
member's dub voice going with him. Brrr.........
Maybe if you put it through some extensive revisions, mostly in the
area of doing better work on the names...
Names .... okay. Gottit ...
New dialog too! And more revisions! And make sure it speaks Bacci!
