It would be a lot easier if someone wrote up a FAQ for writing Pokemon
fanfiction ^_^;;
Hmmm.....I was only going to compile a list of name changes, but this looks
like a good idea. I'll get started on it! Expect a small guideline to
Pokemon fanfics to pop up in a few days! I'll just put a list of grammatical
differences here, and add more when I repost.
1. Always capitalize Pokemon, even if it contradicts normal grammar.
Example: "I will be the world's greatest Pokemon master, even though my
brain is smaller than Damaramu's"
2. Any Pokemon name is always capitalized, even when reffering to them as a
species.
Example: "Come here you kawaii li'l balloon Pokemon! This syringe has
medicine for you! Come back Purin/Jigglypuff! Gotcha! *POP*
WHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"
3. The plural form of the word Pokemon and any Pokemon species is always the
same as the singular form.
Example: "Wow! Look at all those Strike/Scyther! I'll catch 'em! No! Get
away! AAARRRRGGGHHHH! MY FACE! MY BEAUTIFUL FACE! *gurgle*
4. A Pokemon considered by most humans to be tools for their own
advancement. Therefore, "it" is the pronoun to refer to them by, keeping
their gender anonymous and confusing the hell out of us. Possible exceptions
may include the Nidoran and their evolutions, Ebiwaler/Hitmonlee,
Sawamuler/Hitmonchan, and Ruujura/Jynx. Then again, maybe Ruujura should be
reffered to as "it".
Example: " No! Bad Ruujura! No! Keep that on! No! AIIIEEE! Help! Get it
away! Get it away! *spew*"
5. Pokemon types are also capitalized.
Example: "Thar's Eleckric Pokemon an' Rawk Pokemon an' Grass Pokemon, as
enny fool kin plainly see...Oooh....Ah likes smokin' them Grass Pokemon over
in them thar hills...uh-hyuck!"
Any other suggestions? >: )
