Hi! It's Meagen again! Now, I didn't actually write this; I
translated it from Polish. It's much easier than writing, as there's
no such thing as translator's block. :)
This is a fic wich portrays the Senshi in a rather different way, but
not a bit OOC.
Feel free to C&C, especially on grammar, wording and any spelling my
checker could have missed.

HOW HARD IT IS TO EARN SOME MONEY EVEN IF YOU'RE A SAILOR SENSHI

"I really don't know if it's such a good idea..." Michiru stood
up and started pacing the room. Haruka lifted her head from the plans
of the alarm systems for one of Tokyo's largest banks.
"We have no choice. You know that very well."
Michiru went to the closet and gave their Sailor-fukus a quick and
sad look. The dirty, torn-up clothes looked like they were going to
fall apart at the first try of putting them on. The patched-up
shoes standing underneath were unusable too. Michiru sighed and
looked around the room. It was furnished with good taste, but
modestly. And it was very messy. Suddenly the mirror caught her eye.
That settled it. Her hair looked awful, and green hair dye wasn't
cheap - not to mention hairdressers or beauticians.
"You're right", she nodded with determination to her friend sitting
at the table, "we have no choice."
Haruka smiled and turned back to the papers.
"Let's start all over. It's all clear up to this point. The first
problem is this door with an electronic lock."
"Sailor Mercury's computer should open that."
"Good idea! But how will we get it?"
"Hm, let's say I'll take care of that... at least I'll try... but
then there's this door with some damn padlocks..."
"Pluto's Time Key will do there. I can try..."
The friends looked at each other.
"OK, let's get to work." Haruka started to fold the plans. "First
you try to get Mercury's computer, and I'll take care of the key,
right?"
 "Right."

The door bell pulled miss Mizuno away from her work. She wasn't
expecting any guests and was planning to study all day.
"Hello Ami! Long time no see!" The person behind the giant smile
turned out to be Michiru Kaiou. "I hope I'm not disturbing you?" She
chirped with a face as sweet as cheap lemonade. It wasn't often that
Ami got such a clueless expression.
"No", she murmured, "Do come in..."
So she did.
"So, I was just passing nearby and I thought to myself, I haven't
seen our little genius for a while, so I decided to drop in to see
how you're doing at school and all..." Chatted Michiru while
carefully looking around for the wanted object. The problem was she
needed Mercury's computer, not Ami. She needed an idea to make the
young scientist change into Sailor form...
 "Have some tea, or cookies..."
"Why yes, thank you!" Let's see: there's the closet, that's where
the Sailor Costume should be. But how to get there without arising
suspicion? A plan started to hatch out in Michiru's head, under the
somewhat still green hair. But first she had to think it over at
home and talk to Haruka about it. In the meantime, she tried to
remember as much as she could from Ami's clean room, while enjoying
another cookie.

When Chibiusa finished school Haruka was waiting for her.
"Hello, Rabbit!" She cried to the pink-and-pink creature,
nonchalantly waving her hair away from her face. The pink eyes shone
up under the pink hair and the mouth parted showing a red tongue and
palate, which was a nice change. [I have to try to smile more often],
thought Haruka in her not-very-pink mind.
The rabbit, in the meantime, was thrilled: There was someone as
grownup and great as Haruka coming up and talking to her and being
her friend and all, and in front of her classmates too. It was true
that Uranus visited Chibi Moon once in a while to boost her ego and
cheer up when nobody else would think of her as wonderful and
infallible anymore.
"Howdy, Haruka!" Cried Chibiusa gazing at her friends who were
hiding behind false smiles full of envy.
"Wanna go for some ice-cream or something?" Haruka slid her hand
carelessly into her pocket and carelessly broke the other out by
carelessly throwing her schoolbag over her shoulder.
"Sure!" Chirped the pink alien happily while hanging herself on the
Haruka coat sleeve.
"It's on me" sighed Haruka and walked to the nearest cafe. Her
expression was that of a St.Bernard's dog that has something attached
to its tail.

"So Setsuna is supposed to be your best friend and she didn't even
tell you when she keeps that da.... I mean, her key?"
Chibiusa peeked up suspiciously from the thirteenth share of
ice-cream.
"She did!" She exclaimed. "In a safe in her room. But I don't know
the combination for it. Only Setsuna does. Now do you believe that
we're really true friends?"
"Yes, of course", said Haruka's face. She was in the private
apartments of her mind, already plotting out several ways to get
the combination for the safe from Pluto.

"It's a good idea!" Michiru stamped her foot breaking her heel off.
"Damn! Do we have any other shoes?"
"Check under the bed. I don't know... I wonder... What if it
doesn't work? What if she discovers it's a fraud?"
"No way! If we just do it right, she won't. She can't discover it!
Are you sure there's nothing else?" Michiru walked around in the
large Wellington, nearly killing herself on the teapot in the
middle of the room. "Besides, there can't be two burglaries, or
they'll think something's wrong and start snooping."
"There's the sandals, but I think it's too cold to wear them. Well,
maybe you're right. Anyway, we have to try. I wonder..."
"What about Setsuna? Did you HAVE to spend all our money on the
Rabbit's ice-cream? We don't have much to eat..."
"We'll go on a diet. We can use it."
"...and we don't have any way of getting the combination either..."
"Hum, you know what?" Haruka's expression turned to that of an
assassin. "We haven't visited Kaolinite for a while, have we?"
 Michiru's face remained clueless.

 "What? A monster?"
"That's right!" Michiru nodded energetically and dipped her hair in
the pudding. Her painted-on blush spread itself a bit and she looked
seriously ill. "It attacks people who use computers and often steals
their hardware! You have to be careful, Ami!"
Ami looked around, worried. Of course, she couldn't see Haruka,
hiding in the bushes under her house.
"He could attack any minute! He could be watching you right now!"
Exclaimed a terrified Michiru while rinsing her hair in the tea and
wiping it with the table-cloth.
Suddenly an incredible howl was heard, along with a low scream and
something which for some reason brought into mind a broken tractor.
"It's him! It's him! Ami, transform!!!" Michiru scrambled under the
table as quickly as possible, choking on some cake and trying not to
loose her boots.
 "But..."
 "Transform! NOW!"
An odd gurgle and the rustle of cellophane joined the previous
sounds. The lamp's light reflected menacingly in aluminum paper and
sticky tape. A few fern leaves sticking out here and there gave the
monster some questionable charm. The whole thing raised doubts, so
Sailor Mercury stood before the monster just looking at it with
astonishment.
"Do something! Fight!" Michiru was getting impatient. She got out
from under the table and after brushing some crumbs from her skirt,
she walked forward with determination and shoved Ami towards the
window. The latter stumbled a bit, but she still didn't attack.
"Wait a minute!" She cried. "Could it be... Listen, Michiru, that
might not be a demon at all! Hold it..." and Sailor Mercury pulled
out her computer.
At that instant Michiru slammed into her with the full strength of
her delicate body, showing the wanted equipment from its owners'
hands. Then, in one acrobatic jump, she crossed the distance
separating her from it and caught it in midair. With great precision
she threw it in the direction of the shimmering monster, who caught
it a bit less skillfully, but quickly, and hid it in the depths of
its aluminum body. Sailor Mercury only saw the first part of this
acrobatics display, namely Michiru slamming into her. When she
managed to pull up her head it was all over.
The monster was roaring and the computer was gone.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Mercury! I'm so clumsy!" Michiru
scrambled off the poor Ami.
"I've had enough!!!" Even angels lose their tempers sometime, and
Ami was only human. "Shine Aqua ILLUSION!!!"
"Damn!!!!" Shouted the monster in a strange voice as a stream of
water caught it halfway out the window and quickened the escape.
"Where is it! Where is it!" Cried Ami through the window, flushing.
A mirror accidentally got into Michiru's sight. She found out that
she looked awful and decided to be the last person to know that, so
she sneaked out towards the bathroom leaving Ami to her futile
search.
"My computer! That son of a... that awful monster stole my
computer!" Sailor Mercury was getting really furious.
"Font worry! Ell eve it ack!" Michiru's voice was heard over the
sound of falling water. It seemed that she was washing her face.
 "How do you know?!"
 "E alays does!"
Ami looked around the partly demolished room. The wall where her
attack had hit the demon was soaking wet. The table had been tripped
over when Michiru jumped out from under it. The carpet and armchair
were also unusable. The rest of the furniture somehow stayed in one
piece at their usual places. The curtain streamed in the open window.
Michiru stood in the door gracefully wiping her face with a towel.
"You know, I'm awfully sorry, but I really gotta run. I hope you can
clean up yourself, if you can't then call Haruka, she's got a lot of
time and I have to study. Thanks again for the tea and..."
 "That was no demon!"
A look of sincere disapproval appeared on Michiru's freshly cleaned
face. She gave the window a bored stare.
 "What do you..."
"I know! I saw it!" Ami, still in her Sailor Fuku, was excited and
pissed. The natural (unlike Michiru's) blush made an interesting
effect next to the blue-tinted hair. "I saw it right before he took
my computer! It was a HUMAN!"
 "How about that..."
"Really! The next time he attacks I'll be ready for him!" obviously,
Ami hadn't noticed how much ironic and bored Michiru sounded. "It's
my duty and I don't want anyone else meddling. He's got my
computer!"
 "All right. Listen..."
 "Why didn't you transform?"
"Ummmm.... Forgot my pen!" Michiru chirped, putting on a false smile
for a moment. "Gotta run! Good luck! Bye!" Boots clapped on the
stairs, the door slammed and Ami was left with the incredible mess
and some half-eaten pudding.

The noises in the bushes rose and were joined by torn aluminum
paper and cellophane.
"Not that hard, dammit!" The smaller figure in the boots loosened
her grip on a huge, weird pile and it fell down, glittering
suspiciously in the lamppost's light.
"What ARE you doing?!?!" The pile was obviously irritated.
"You told me to let go..."
"I only said not so hard! Never mind, I'll get out myself."
There was a few humpfs and the pile moved, and then rose, showing
a shape which could have even been a human, with some proper
make-over and good will.
"Phhhh.... Phhhhh.... help me out of this damn thing!"
"You said you'd get out yourself." The offended person leaned
against a lamppost nonchalantly and admired her polished boots.
"YOU should have stuck cellophane to yourself, fry in aluminum, get
wet and jump out the window! I'd gladly eat Ami's dessert then!"
The insulted boots finally moved and a pair of hands started tearing
off the sticky tape.
"All right, but don't talk to me that way."

TRANSLATOR'S INTERLUDE
Sailor Andromeda walks on the stage, holding a sign which says: "WILL
KILL FOR C&C". She stands still for a few moments. Then, some guy
form the audience runs up and whispers something. Sailor Andromeda
blushes, then hits the guy on the head several times with her sign.
She holds it up to him and points to the word "KILL". The guy
scatters off holding his head with both arms. Sailor Andromeda
remains, holding a slightly deformed sign which now says "W LL KILI
FCP C8^". After a few minutes, she gets off the stage also.

"I'm really not sure... Do you think we'll manage to use this in the
decisive moment? Oh, again... Not that! Now try Enter."
"I AM pressing Enter! Are you suggesting that we're dumber than
Ami?"
 "Oh!"
"Oh! well, maybe a little... Never mind, we'll learn. Now for the
other problem: Setsuna. Chibiusa said she loved cream cakes. That
could help..."
"Forget the cream cakes! We've been eating old rice for three days
now, because there's nothing else left, and you want to buy Setsuna
cream cakes! Where do you suppose we'll get the money?"
 "Well, let's say I have a plan..."

The moon flooded the street with its milk-colored light which
reflected in the dew on the grass and in the windows of the
buildings. The black asphalt shone silvery and the lampposts and
trash cans threw fantastic shades on the street and walls. A black
shape slipped through them, hiding silently from the pale face of the
greatest night watch of them all. The gentle, fluid motion showed
great skill and a perfect knowledge of the area. Like a shadow, a
mysterious figure sneaked under the walls, slided around the
buildings, unseen and unheard in the sleeping neighborhood. A dog
barked somewhere, but it didn't detect the nighttime guest.
Who can it be? Who is this person dressed in black, hanging around
the darkest corners? Who hides their face in the shadows, moving more
silently than a cat towards one particular house? Who knows the way
as if they had gone there hundreds of times in broad daylight, but
now sneaks under the cover of the night, masked, careful, unseizable?
Is it Tuxedo Kamen? Is it Captain Shadow? No! It's Haruka Tenoh! She
has just reached her destination; the Tsukino house. It doesn't look
any different than the other houses in this street, but the night
guest doesn't want the house, just its contents. She opens the gate
silently and walks across the garden to the house wall. She finds
the spot on the wall where some ivy grows up on a fragile structure
made of wood. She looks at it for a while, estimating the endurance.
A quick look at the street ensures her that no one will disturb her
and her plan can be carried out. She grabs the constructions, her
strong hands mercilessly crushing the young shoots of the plant. Now
she's climbing among the leaves with light, fluid motions. She
arrives at the window of the second floor. Slowly, she gets on to the
window-sill. She pushes the glass slightly - the window is open. The
black shape turns around gracefully and melds into the darkness
inside. A child's room. Similar to so many others. On the bed, a
small pink-haired girl drools in her sleep. Then, on the desk under
the wall, the thief notices the object she's after; reflecting the
silvery moonlight, throwing a long shadow, next to the textbooks
and crayons, it stands proudly, towering above all the other things.
It seems to glance menacingly at the intruder, certain of its
complete safety. But the thief is already over her prey. She looks at
the object she is about to posses for her very own, then grabs it and
puts into a bag filled with wool. Then she takes it gently and
returns to the window.
Something jingled gently. Like a violin string breaking far away,
like a dime falling at the corner of the street, like a phone
receiver being hung up three floors down. The intruder froze in
place, completely fading into the night. She threw a quick glance at
the sleeping girl. The pale moonlight from the window made her look
even prettier and sweeter than usual. But she didn't know this,
submerged in the ocean of her own dreams, where horses have wings
and become humans. The thief breathed, her chest moving silently.
She moved to the window where she lowered her booty down on a thin
line. Then she got out onto the window-sill and onto the
construction, along with which she spectacularly fell to the grass
below with a loud thump. For a few whiles there was an undisturbed
silence and nothing moved.
For a few next whiles the huge mess on the ground moved around and
finally, a figure covered with leaves and pieces of wood emerged
from it. For a few following whiles the figure searched around the
tangle of ivy and wood for the dark grey bag. When all this happened,
the figure ceased crushing the grass and headed back, for some
reason less gracefully than on the way there. The gate squeaked and
shortly thereafter the figure dressed in black ran limping a bit
to another part of town.

 "Usagi!"
"Leave me alone, I'm late for school!"
A worried child's face and a mess of pink hair appeared in the
bathroom door. "Usagi! Have you seen my piggy-bank? I thought I left
it on my desk..."
"Obviously, you thought wrong. Mom! My sandwiches! Hurry!"
The father of the family came in from his morning jog. "That's odd,
the ivy fell off the wall."
"I told you to fix that wine ladder, honey. Some bird must have sat
on it. Oh dear, the poor thing struggled free so hard that it tore up
the whole plant."

The bell rang and some long-legged red hair stood in the doorway.
"Well, Haruka and Michiru! We haven't seen each other in some time!"
A venom-leaking, sweet voice and a powdered cheek moved forward.
"Hello, darling!" False kisses were exchanged, the kind only women
can present.
 "So, what's been going on?"
"Do come in! I'll make some tea. Hotaru! Professor! We've got
visitors!"
A very pale girl ran into the room. "Haruka! Michiru!" A smile
brightened up the white face.
"Hi, little one, how are you?"
"Good morning, Hotaru! How are you and your dad doing?"
"Dad's very busy making daimons and I don't think he'll be coming
here."
"What a pity!" Haruka seemed really concerned. "I miss the old
professor, don't you, Michiru?"
"Hm... Not that much... Go visit him if you want, and I'll wait here
for tea. OK?"
Haruka looked at Hotaru, and seeing the appreciation on her face she
smiled mysteriously to her friend, took the small girl's hand and
walked along the corridor. Hotaru seemed very happy and started
crying from the distance: "Daddy! Look who's here!"
 Kaolinite entered with some tea.
"Haruka went with Hotaru to see the professor. Oh, dearie, what's
that tea?"
 "Um... Assam."
"Honey, could you please see if you have Juan? I like it so much..."
"I'll go see. Wait a minute, sugar."
When the red-haired Miss America left the room Michiru jumped up
and, sliding on the floor, raced to Hotaru's dark room. She threw a
quick glance around. It's here! The purple purse was lying at its
usual spot. Michiru jumped over to it and dramatically emptied it
into her handbag. She threw the empty purse back and rushed back to
sit down a second before Kaolinite came in with the new tea.
"Oh! Why are you breathing so hard?" She looked at Michiru when she
put down her tea.
"You see, I just remembered this great joke and laughed really
hard."
"Oh. And what kind of joke was so funny to you?" Kaolinite
straightened her miniature dress and sat down sipping the dark
liquid.
 "... about a lamb!"
Haruka and Hotaru came into the room. Behind them Professor Tomoe
jumped in, shining his glasses.
"Hello, ladies... No, wait, I've already seen you today, Kaolinite."
He added looking attentively at his assistant. Then he exclaimed:
"Wait, do you live here or something?"
"Yes, professor. I'm your assistant and I take care of Hotaru.
Hotaru is your daughter." Said the long-legged vision calmly and, to
explain, it added: "The professor has been spending too much time
in his laboratory, among daimon material. It doesn't agree with his
brain."
The guests and the professor nodded with sympathy. The professor
said: "Poor thing! Doesn't agree with him!" And ran out to the
kitchen.
An embarrassing silence fell for a few moments. Then Haruka said:
"Actually we have to run now, all the studying and all, we hope to
see you again sometime!"
Kaolinite escorted them to the door and locked it tight. A small
voice came from the dark room: "Kaolinite! You've been in my room
again! At least give me my money!"

"Cream cakes? Sure! Wait just a minute, I'll put on something
suitable." Setsuna twirled slamming her hair into Haruka's face and
vanished in her bedroom.
Haruka produced a heavy sigh and put her hands in her pockets.
'Michiru's gonna kill me', she thought. After examining the ceiling
and floor she started to look at the walls when Setsuna returned.
She was dressed in a suit and high heels, she had her make-up on
and she was ready to conquer the cream world. She took Haruka's arm
and they went to the cafe.

'That's not fair!' Thought Haruka as another cake disappeared in
Setsuna's vast stomach. 'This isn't going to work, every time I try
to talk about the safe or the key she interrupts, changes the subject
and all... total failure. But there might still be a way. I just
have to have faith in myself...'

Night was already falling. A weird pair stumbled along the street.
Their singing echoed on the surrounding houses. The beautiful
long-haired woman laughed loudly as she leaned against her companion.
She was waving her shoes in her hand. The other person was yelling
bits of songs that didn't make any sense, and howling to the moon.
Every few minutes they both made a "Shhhhh" that could have been
heard on the other end of the street.
The pair stopped in front of Setsuna's house. The owner opened the
door not without some difficulties, and, after saying goodbye, went
to bed rather noisily.
Haruka, left to herself, went home stumbling a bit, but quietly.
Michiru was waiting for her.
"How could you get drunk like that?!?"
"The Setsu... setsunish gal was drunk more. And I got the combi...
combo... code for that safe! May I have this dance?"
"You've got the combination? Where? In your failing memory?"
 "Herere... Ri...ritten on mah sole..."
And there was indeed a number scribbled on the underside of
Haruka's shoe.
"May ah... ha.... <hip>.... hahave.... this.... da.... hrrrrrrrrr."

Haruka was rather "out" the next day, so Michiru got down to work.
She skipped school and waited in the bushes outside Setsuna's house
until the latter left for work. Then she whipped out her secret
weapon - a set of lockpicks, borrowed from a certain good-looking
friend pursued by the gendarmes. She took out the picks for that type
of lock and started to break in.
Four hours of hard work later, she managed to open the front door.
She quickly found the safe and got a piece of paper with the code on
it from the dark depths of her hair. After a few trails, she
finally got to the Time Key. It was divided into four parts - easier
to store and transport. She put it in her backpack, shut the safe
and ran out, closing the door behind her.

"OK. Now we've got everything we need, so let's get on with the main
robbery. I think it's going to be easier than all the preparations."
"I hope you're right! So, once again. From here we go here, use the
Time Key here and we're all set!"
"Did we foresee everything? I don't want to have an unpleasant
surprise..."
 "I'm sure we anticipated everything!"
 "So, let's go!"

 "Uranus planet power, Make up!"
 "Neptune planet power, Make up!"
The two Senshi put on black head-masks, took out a pair of guns
borrowed from some acquaintances pursued by the gendarmes, and walked
into the bank.
"Don't anybody move! Down on the floor, now!"
The customers and cashiers fell down and covered their heads with
their arms. The masked robbers ran down the corridor. First door.
 "Damn!!! Locked up again!!!"
"Try the last command again, and then Enter..."
"I am!!! All right!!! OK. Alarms off, front door closed, vault
open!!! Let's go!!!"
Fast steps down the corridor, breaths steady, boots clapping.
"Oops... Darn! My bow's hooked! Help me!"
A quick movement to get the material off the standing-out element.
The masked figures run on. Sudden stop in front of the next door.
 "Good! Give me the key!"
Pieces of the Time Key are quickly put together.
 "It fits!"
The padlocks give way and the burglars are now in the vault.
"Take as much as you can!"

They put the money in bags, tie them and are about to leave when...
"Hold it! How dare you attack a bank where people keep their money!
How will a girl feel when her savings are stolen and she won't be
able to buy herself a new dress? It's unforgivable! I AM THE
PRETTY SAILOR SUITED SOLDIER THAT STANDS FOR LOVE AND JUSTICE,
SAILOR MOON! TSUKINI KAWATE OHSHOKIO!!!"
 "..."
 "No. We didn't anticipate everything."
 "We are the Sailor Senshi!"
 "Sailor Mars!"
 "Sailor Mercury!"
 "Sailor Jupiter!"
 "Sailor Venus!"
"In the name of justice, we will punish you!"
Those hairstyles, those eyes, those lines... It's...
"Let's get out of here! World Shaking!"
 "Deep Submerge!"
The walls that would stop the burglars' escape were turned into
rubble. They skipped across it and disappeared into the trees.
"Luna, that looked kind of familiar...."
"Impossible. It has to be the new enemy. Now we have to find their
hideout and ask Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Saturn for help."

"Well? We did it! We've got the money! We've got the money!!!"
 "Yatta! We've got the cash!"
 "..."
 "..."
"Now what are we gonna do with it?"
