Cosmic Knight's Story

* Sailor Moon: Magical Boy Epic * [Need A Better Title]

Note: This is an ALTERNATE REALITY story,which sort of is a gender-bender with certain characters of "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" or,
since I am using the dub NA version,just Sailor Moon. ;) I've also
changed a few things in the plot. Don't worry,in no way have I changed 
the essence of the anime saga to alienate Moonie otaku...I hope!

Second Note: For those of you who are referring me to Chris Jones's 
fanfic,Sailor Moon Reversal,I KNOW ABOUT THE FANFIC! Don't tell me
about it anymore,okay? This story has very few connections to that
work,and if you don't know about the fanfic,go to Chris's site at:

Disclaimers: In no way do I own any characters in Sailor Moon,nor do
I own any characters that make cheap cameos! While some of the people
are my creation,they still have similar traits to the Sailor Scouts
and friends you know,so I don't own those Scouts or friends. Naoko
and DiC do. Don't worry,I won't try to butcher this job like THEY did.

Episode 8: Flora and Fauna(or Ren's Big Date)
========================================================================

Three boys were making their way through a park. They were Ren Hino,
Amos Anderson,and Seth Getsuno. They stopped to admire the lake.

"Beautiful," said Seth.

"Yeah,you could go out on a boat and read in peace," said Amos.

"READ??" said Ren. "Not me! I'd find a cute girl and ask her out,
and we'd watch the sunset from a boat on this lake."

They walked some more and met an elderly man tending the flowers.
"Hi there,grandpa," said Amos. "Nice to see you."

"Hello,Amos," said the man. His name was Baxter and he was a gardener.
"It's nice to see you and your friends here."

Seth and Ren were surprised. "This is your grandpa?" asked Ren.

"Yes,he is a nice person," said Amos. "He worked here for 20 years."

"Yeah,but this is the end," sighed Baxter.

"What?" asked Amos. "Why?"

"They're tearing this park down to make an office complex here."

"Oh no," said Seth. "That's horrible."

"Yeah,I did everything to stop them,but to no avail," said Baxter,
going back to his flowers. "These beautiful plants will be destroyed.
You might as well enjoy the park,because it's going down next week."

~Not if I have anything to say about it!~ thought Ren angrily.

Luna was waiting for the arcade to close. "This is boring," she said to
herself. She crossed the street. "I think we'll never find the Prince of
the Moon. This is such a frustration."

She then froze as she saw a truck heading towards her. Just then,a woman
grabbed her and leapt out of the way. "Man,you are as stupid as Seth is,
walking across the street like that," she laughed.

"Hey!" said Seth as he ran up. "Leave my cat alone,you bitch!"

"I just saved your cat from being roadkill!" said Darlene angrily.

"Come here,Luna," said Seth as Ren and Amos arrived. He picked her up.
"You leave my cat alone,or else I'll shred you to bits!"

"Yeah right," said Darlene as the arcade door opened.

"Hey,Darle," said Andrea. "Nice to see you again."

"Huh?" said the boys.

"YOU KNOW THIS SLUT!!?!" shouted Seth. "She was torturing my cat!"

Meanwhile,Nephlite was busy in her chapel.

~The stars know everything,~ she thought. ~Show me the one whose
energy is reaching its full potential so I may obtain it.~

An image of Baxter appeared. "This old fool?" she said with a smile.
"So be it. Sailor Scouts,you haven't got a chance!"

Seth was trying desperately to win Sailor V,but was failing miserably.

"Damnit! Damnit! DAMNIT!!" screamed Seth,banging on the controls.

Amos and Darlene were watching as Andrea chatted with Ren.

"So,you two are high-school buddies,right?" asked Ren.

"Yep," said Andrea. "You're Ren Hino,right? Serena told a lot of you.
He told me that your cousin was the famous Ranma Saotome."

"Oh,he's not really like that character in the manga," chuckled Ren.
"He was just a model for Rumiko Takahashi. He never had a curse."

"Yeah,it's all fantasy," teased Andrea. "Lizzie reads it,though.
You did learn martial arts from your cousin,correct?"

"Yep,most of the stuff I know comes from Ranma," said Ren. "He told
me that it's a super way to relax and relieve tension."

"That's what Darlene says," said Andrea. "She's in the karate class
of Tokyo High. She is bugging me to join too."

"What,she's a martial artist?" asked Ren. His eyes gleamed with
mischief. ~This is super-cool! We have something in common! She'd
be the perfect girl for me. I'll ask him 'want to be my training
partner?'~ He got up. ~That'll sweep her off her feet!~

*CRASH!* Ren slipped and landed on his head.

"NO WAY!" cried Seth. "I dodged that shot!!!"

"Ren? REN?!" said Andrea,picking Ren up. "You okay? Anything hurt?"

"Just my pride..." mumbled Ren,rubbing his head.

Baxter sighed as he watched the construction crew arrive. "All these
years...wasted. What an utter shame." He shook his head.

"I see you have something against this project," said a voice. Baxter
turned around to see Nephlite in her civilian outfit. "I do too. It is
a shame to see the beauty of nature being destroyed."

"I see you are a naturalist,miss," said Baxter. "But what can we do?"

"I have a way to stop this," said Nephlite,grinning wickedly. She placed
a finger on his hat and the symbol flared. ~Power of the stars,make this
man's energy multiply a million-fold!~ Her giggle caused the birds to
fly out of the trees,squawking in fear. "Now...turn your anger against
the people you hate..." She faded away. "And siphon it into the smallest
of creatures! Then your energy,and that of the creatures,will be mine."

Suddenly,a swarm of moths surrounded the workers.

"HEY!" shouted a worker. "What the f++k's going on here?!"

Moths sacrificed their lives to destroy equipment as birds dived at
the workers and pecked at them. It was a frightening scene.

The next morning,Ren was hovering on the corner,waiting for Darlene to
come. "Now...let's go over this again..." he mumbled to himself. "When
she gets here,I'll pretend to run into her,and then I'll say..."

	"Oops! Sorry. I really should be careful."

	"Hey,that's okay," said Darlene. "Because you are the perfect
	guy for me. I'm glad you stumbled into my life."

	"Cool!" said Ren.

"NO WAY!" said Ren,laughing. "That would NEVER happen."

Meanwhile,Seth and Luna were walking down the nearby sidewalk. Seth was
gorging on a double scoop of ice cream. "Yum,French vanilla," he said.

"Don't you worry about your dental health?" asked Luna.

"Nuh uh," said Seth.

Luna then spotted Ren. "Isn't that Ren? What's he doing?"

Seth looked up. "Looks like he's waiting for someone." He then saw
Darlene. "Oh look,it's that snob,Darlene. Ren had better watch out."

~Oh good,here she comes!~ thought Ren. He made to move to her,but a
Pikachu got underfoot and he crashed to the ground painfully,even more
pain shooting through his head when Darlene stepped on it. Be glad she
wasn't wearing high heels! "URK!!" he squealed.

"Heh heh," said Seth. "Poor Ren."

"My,you sure know how to lay on the sympathy," muttered Luna.

"Oops," said Darlene,taking her foot off and picking Ren up. "Sorry."

"Hey,I tripped," said Ren. "I'm such a clutz."

"That's okay," said Darlene,walking off.

"H-H-HEY!" said Ren,getting her attention.

"Ren,I'm busy now," said Darlene.

"You know me?" asked Ren. ~Good.~ "I was worried you didn't know. Say,
do you know that I am the cousin of..."

"Ranma Saotome," said Darlene. "Yeah. Who do you think teaches my
martial arts class in Tokyo High?" She flashed a wry smile.

Ren was in love. ~What a pretty smile,~ he sighed. "Say,Darlene,want
to share a milkshake with me? I was going over to Dairy Queen."

"I can't," said Darlene. "I promised Andrea that I would help her study
tonight and I have to hurry over to her house."

"Hey,we could just take out," said Ren with a smile.

Darlene sighed. ~Persistent boy.~ "Well,I could spend a few minutes."

"Great!" said Ren,putting his arm around her shoulder. ~How could Seth
think that this super-cool babe is a bitch? She's so sweet!~

"Ew! Ick!" said Seth,making faces. "Look at the way he holds her!"

"Oh no..." moaned Luna. "Do I see jealousy in your eyes?"

"Jealous? Me?" laughed Seth. "Ah ha ha. No way! Those two can date. I
just...ah...wanted Ren to stay focused on...finding the Moon Prince!"

"Yeah,right," muttered Luna.

"I'd better make sure he stays focused," said Seth. Deeply,he WAS
jealous of Ren. ~How can he get that slut to be putty in his hands?~

Ren and Darlene had shakes in Lizzie's diner. "So," said Ren. "You
have anybody waiting for you? A boyfriend,if you get my drift."

"Nah," said Darlene,stirring her shake with her straw. "I am not a
major fan of romance. It's all stupid."

"Hey,we think alike," fibbed Ren. "Who needs fairy-tale love?"

Seth had his face against the window. "Damnit! I can't hear a thing."

"Too bad you can't be invisible," said Luna. "Oh no..."

"Oh yes!" shouted Seth,holding up the Luna Pen. "DISGUISE POWER!"

"Hey hey!" said a voice. Seth turned to see Melody behind her.
"What'cha doing,Sethy? And where did you get that pen?"

"Ah..." said Seth,hiding the Luna Pen. "It's not your business."
Then he hit another idea. "Hey,Mel...you want a milkshake?"

"AH!" screamed Melody. "You'd treat me!?"

"You betcha," said Seth,putting an arm around her. He shuddered a bit.
~This had better be worth it...I HAVE to find out what Ren's up to!~

Inside,Ren and Darlene had finished their shakes. "Hey,Darlene,"
said Ren with a sly grin. "Want to go rowing on the lake?"

"That's a good idea," said Darlene. "I have a flexible schedule."

"Wow,you are such a woman," said Ren with his eyes gleaming. ~I can't
believe it! She wants to spend more time with ME!~

Seth was straining to hear what the two were saying. ~Damnit! I can't
hear. Why did Melody have to sit so far from those two?~ He saw them
leave for the park. Then his eyes lit up. "Mel,want to go for a walk?"

Amos was walking through the park with a miserable look on his face.
Luna arrived. "Hi Luna,I thought you were with Seth."

"He's on a date with Melody and snooping on Ren," said Luna with a
sigh. "What is with you,Amos? You look down."

"Well," said Amos. "Baxter's my grandfather. He taught me everything I
know about plants,animals,and nature. This park was his dream,and they
are gonna tear it down for a stupid office building. I hate progress."

"Well,there's nothing we can do," said Luna sadly. "If the government
approved this project,it has to go on. That's that."

"AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" cried a voice. Amos and Luna ran to the source of
the scream and gasped - squirrels were biting at a businessman!

"GET OFF ME,YOU UGLY RATS!" he cried.

Amos dropped his jaw as he saw the eyes of the squirrels. "The animals!"

"It has to be the Negaverse!" said Luna. "We've got to get help!"

Ren rowed the boat out to the middle of the lake. "This good?"

"Yeah,thanks," said Darlene,brushing her hand on the water. "This park
is a wonderful place. Shame they are tearing it down."

"Yeah," said Ren. "They'll put steel and glass in the place of nature."

"There won't be a single park in this city," sighed Darlene. "Say,why
don't we go to the flower gardens? I love flowers. My favorite is the
lotus. I want to see the lotuses before they are destroyed."

"You like lotuses?" asked Ren in shock. ~Is she Lotus...nah!~

Seth was watching them. ~DAMN DAMN DAMNIT!!!~ he thought,his face
red. "Stupid Ren,I bet they are making out. EEEWWWW!!"

"Oh...oh oh oh!" cried Melody,covering her face. "I can't believe it!
Seth,I knew you had a secret crush on me,but this proves it!" She lifted
her mouth. "Kiss me,Seth. I am begging to be kissed." She opened her
eyes. "Huh? Where did he go? Seth!!" She wandered off to search for him.

Seth burst through the bushes. "Phew! Thought I'd never get rid of HER!
Worse than seeing Ren making out with Darlene is Melody kissing me!"

"There you are!" said Amos,startling Seth.

"Don't do that!" shouted Seth.

"Sorry,but I was looking for you," said Amos. "Where were you?"

"Trying to shake off Melody the kissing bandit," said Seth.

"Honestly,the way you treat that girl is disgusting," said Luna.

"Well,she's a geek," said Seth. "No point being nice."

"Why were you spying on Ren and Darlene?" asked Amos.

"Uh..." said Seth. "I just wanted to protect Ren from that bi--"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" bellowed a voice. The boys turned to see
an enraged Baxter. "YOU DARE DEFILE MY PARK! DIE!!!"

"Uh oh..." said Seth.

"Grandpa! Wake up!" shouted Amos.

"Energy level,peak!" said Nephlite,and Baxter screamed as the youma
emerged from his hat and sucked his energy dry.

"GRANDPA!!!" screamed Amos as the youma formed. It was a hideous 
mockery of the hamadryad,with vines wrapped around its body.

"Forget that old fool," laughed the youma,Fatasos. "He's a memory."

"Not if I have anything to say!" shouted Amos. "MERCURY POWER!"

"MOON PRISM POWER!" shouted Seth. Bubbles and ribbons flew and the
two boys were clothed in their Sailor outfits. "I am Sailor Moon,and
you are in deep trouble,you ugly plant-monster!"

"We'll see about that!" laughed Fatasos. "HAAA!!" A flock of ravens
flew from the trees and blotted out the sun.

Ren felt the evil. "Something evil is nearby," he murmured. He then
saw Darlene shaking her head and blinking her eyes,as if in pain.
"Are you okay,Darlene? You need a doctor?"

"I...I'm fine," said Darlene. ~Oh no,it's happening again!~

Just then,the birds flew past,screaming,and the two were knocked out
of the boat and into the water. Luckily,Ren had some swimming skills,
and so did Darlene,as they swam to the shore.

The other two Scouts were having trouble as flies and cicadas were
biting them while two badgers were harrassing poor Luna.

"Get off me,you furry-tailed hairballs!" screamed the cat.

"SHOOT!" said Mercury. He flung his arms out. "MERCURY FREEZING MIST!"
The ice-cold mist froze the insects,paralyzing them. "What have done
to grandpa Baxter,you goddamned bitch?!"

"The same thing I'll do to you," laughed Fatasos. She fired two
vines from her hands and tied up the two boys. They screamed as
they were zapped and drained of their energy.

"Luna! Help us!" cried Sailor Moon,but the cat was laid out. "AAAH!!"

"Blech," said Ren,spitting out lake water. "That was not fun." He
looked up and sensed the evil. "Uh oh..."

"Something's up," said Darlene. "Ah,Ren,I've got something to do."

"Funny coincidence," said Ren. "Me too. I'll see you later."

"Say your prayers,Sailor Losers!" laughed the youma. "You are dead!"

"Noooo!!" cried Amos as he was being drained. "Gotta...get...free!"

"MARS FIRE SOUL!!!"

The fireball blasted Fatasos and burnt away the vines,freeing them.

"Sailor Mars!" shouted Seth in relief as the black-haired Scout arrived.

"Had to save your butts,didn't I?" said Ren. "Now,let's cream this
creep before she hurts any more people."

"Guess again,you three," laughed Fatasos,firing more vines.

*THWACK!* A red lotus destroyed them.

"The beauty of nature is a fragile thing," said Lotus Mask. "To use
it for evil means is a crime which I will not allow!"

"Lotus Mask!" sighed Seth. "You saved us again!"

"Do it,Sailor Moon."

Seth tore off his bandanna. "MOON BANDANNA MAGIC!!!"

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" cried the youma as it was destroyed.

"Nice work," said the masked woman. "You'll make a great team. Ta ta!"
She leapt down and into the bushes,vanishing like a shadow.

"Oh...she is such a gorgeous lady!" sighed Seth.

"You said it," said Ren,smiling.

Baxter slowly came to. "Mmmm...what happened?"

"Nothing," said Amos. "You were stricken with heat stroke."

"Yeah," said Baxter. "Maybe I should home for the day."

"Good idea," said Seth.

Just as Baxter left,Darlene walked up,wringing out her shirt.

"Uh oh," said Ren. "It's Darlene. I hope she's not mad I ditched her."

"What?" asked Seth angrily. His eyes flashed with envy.

"Sorry about leaving you like that," said Darlene to Ren.

Ren smiled. "That's okay. Hey..." He grinned evilly. "Want to go watch
the sunset?" He turned to Seth,who was glaring at him. "Jealous?"

"NO!" screamed Seth. "YOU TWO MAKE A PERFECT COUPLE! GO AHEAD AND DATE
THIS BITCH! I DON'T GIVE A BLOODY DAMN WHAT YOU DO!!"

"Ah...why don't I treat all you kids to a pizza and sodas?" asked
Darlene,who was sweating buckets of nervousness.

"Sure," said Ren. "Darlene,wanna share a soda with me?"

"Grrrr..." growled Seth,smoke coming from his ears.

To make matters worse,Melody showed up. "Hey,Seth! You skipped out when
I was going to kiss you." She puckered up.

Seth had had enough. He balled a fist..."You wanna kiss? Here you go!"

"No!" said Amos,grabbing his fist. "Don't hit her!"

"Yeah,nimbus," said Ren. "It's not polite to hit a lady."

"THAT IS NO LADY!!" screamed Seth.

Melody heard this and wept. "Boo hoo hoo! How could you say that? You
treated me to a shake and then we walked in the park!"

"I didn't know you were dating her,you dog," teased Darlene.

"I'm not dating her," hissed Seth.

"Sounds like a date to me," teased Ren.

"I AM NOT DATING MELODY!!" shouted Seth.

"Sounds like a date," said the others.

"AAAAAAAAAAH!!!" Seth's scream startled some birds.
