Another altered destiny fic and one that stars Kodachi; sounds
good
to me. I just have a few concerns, however. I've noticed that >except
for
"most unlikely of friends," the altered destiny fics have >tried to be
original by having weird sexual relationships like that >3-way with Ranma,
Ukyou, and Shampoo and the 5-way marriage thing. I >just never really
bought any them. They didn't seem to have enough >justification in my
mind. Please do not have something like that in >this series. I saw some
signs up one

Okay... what is "weird" about poly relationships? This is Ranma
1/2--we have water-activated curses, engagements made in exchange for
meals,
and schoolyard melees of forty against one. These things are not "weird,"
but a loving relationship between more than two persons is? If that's your
definition, fine, but I'm afraid it doesn't make very much sense to me.

I can't speak for the Altered Destiny authors, but I can speak for
myself as an author of poly-oriented Ranma fics who has discussed the
matter
with others on occasion. The last possible reason anyone could have for
writing such a thing is "trying to be original." First off, there are a
goodly number of them out there. Second off, I don't know too many people
who write fanfic for the primary goal of being original. Third off, if
such
were a writer's goal, there are many other ways of going about it.
So, why do we write them? Why does anyone write anything?
Personally,
I write my poly fics because the ideas came to me and I found them
compelling. I suspect this is the motivation behind most fics, original
flavour or otherwise.

Okay.

This might be slightly off topic, but polyamory exists in real life,
information on it can be found at http://www.polyamory.org.

It's got all sorts of info, including links to web poly stuff and guides to
making a poly relationship work. Anybody who is trying to do a poly story of
any sort, Ranma, Tenchi, or other, would be well advised to at least check
it out.

As to cracks about poly being weird.... Whatever gives you the idea that
this is a bad thing?

Be well.
