Here is chapter(episode) 1 of Magical Boy Epic. Note: I need a better title
for this story,so if you want to give me ideas,e-mail me!

I am doing this to see how people will react,and also because I want
to try something radical to the SM storyline. I've written alternate
reality fics before,but they mostly copied a friend of mine. I want
to do something original to the story and maybe add in SMS and SMS*
as well,for the fun of it. Please tell me what you think,but no
flames or nasty comments,okay? If you don't like,don't comment and

* Sailor Moon: Magical Boy Epic * [Need A Better Title]

Note: This is an ALTERNATE REALITY story,which sort of is a gender-bender with certain characters of "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" or,
since I am using the dub NA version,just Sailor Moon. ;) I've also
changed a few things in the plot. Don't worry,in no way have I changed 
the essence of the anime saga to alienate Moonie otaku...I hope!

Second Note: For those of you who are referring me to Chris Jones's 
fanfic,Sailor Moon Reversal,I KNOW ABOUT THE FANFIC! Don't tell me
about it anymore,okay? This story has very few connections to that
work,and if you don't know about the fanfic,go to Chris's site at:

Disclaimers: In no way do I own any characters in Sailor Moon,nor do
I own any characters that make cheap cameos! While some of the people
are my creation,they still have similar traits to the Sailor Scouts
and friends you know,so I don't own those Scouts or friends. Naoko
and DiC do. Don't worry,I won't try to butcher this job like THEY did.

Episode 1: A Moon Star Is Born...?!

First,a little history to this story...

Aeons ago,there used to be a kingdom on the Moon. It was the home to a
great civilization and was ruled by Queen Serenity. She had a beautiful son called Prince Serin. Both of them were her pride and joy. All was okay until Queen Beryl launched her attack on the world.

Queen Beryl: "Ha ha ha ha! First,the Moon,then...the Universe!"

Queen Beryl unleashed the sheer power of the Negaforce and destroyed the
Moon Kingdom with it. Even though everyone was dead,including the Moon
Prince,Queen Serenity used the Crescent Moon Wand and the Silver Moon Crystal to drive the enemy far away.

Queen Serenity: "Only this Crystal and Wand can combat the power of the Negaforce. Never let our enemies get them,or the Universe is doomed, but most of all,you must protect my beloved son."

Using the last of their power,the Sailor Scouts and Queen Serenity sent
the Moon Prince and their brothers,the Planet Princes,to Earth. They
frozen in moonlight crystal and their memories of the Moon Kingdom were
locked away. The queen's two magical advisors,Luna and Artemis,were also
sealed away and slept,awakening in the modern era to find the young Moon
Prince and protect her with their powers. And thus we begin...

"AAAH!" cried a young man of 14 years. He brushed his short light beige
hair and washed out the sleep from his brown-blue eyes. "I'm late! Mom,
why didn't you wake me up like dad does?"

"Seth," said Elana Getsuno,a 35-year old woman with long blue hair. "I
tried,but you said you would get up soon."

"Geez," said Seth. "You actually believed that!" He finished clothing
himself in his white buttoned shirt and blue trousers,the usual Tokyo
school outfit. "I've got to go,mom." He hugged her. "Bye!"

"Ahem," said Elana. "You forgot something,dear."

"Eh?" said Seth,poking his head out Elana patted the boy's sack. "Oops!
Sorry." He grabbed it,then gave another hug to her mom. "See ya!"

"Well...I guess two hugs are a good price," sighed Elana,who went back
to her normal chore of clipping coupons from the paper.

"Argh!" said Seth as he dashed down the sidewalk. "I hate school! I wish
I didn't have to do this boring 6-hour useless...ARGH!" He skinned his
knees on the sidewalk. "Stupid sidewalk! Damnit!"

Just then,his ear caught voices nearby.

"Hold it," said one.

"Yeah,it's a cute kitty," said another.

"I wanna play with it next," said the third.

"I'm trying,I'm trying," said the fourth.

Seth looked up and saw four kids tormenting a cat. He got upset and
threw a rock at them. "Hey you! Stop tormenting that cat!"

The rock grazed one of the boys and they ran off. Seth came up and
found that the cat was black. But this was not a superstitous boy.
He picked up the cat. "Poor kitty," said Seth,smiling. "Those mean
boys hurt you bad. They even put that bandage on you." He slowly
removed the bandages and revealed a crescent moon on the cat's brow.

Just then,the cat leapt out of Seth's arms,bounded off his head,and
landed on the hood of a nearby car. It sensed something odd about
this boy,something which may have to do with her mission.

"N-N-Nice kitty," said Seth,backing up. He was getting wigged out by
the cat's staring. Just then,the bell rang. "SHOOT! I'm really late!"
He hurried off,pumping his legs to avoid being too late.

"Could he be the one?" thought the cat aloud.

Seth was unable to avoid punishment for his tardy. He,like all students
who were late,had to stand outside in the hallway. His stomach growled
and he decided to nibble on a bit of his lunch while he waited for the
class to end. As he ate,he thought aloud. "Maybe I can go play that new
Sailor V game that's out in the Crown Game Center."

The door slammed in his face. It was Miss Haruna,the nastiest teacher in
the school. Some kids nicknamed her "Hurricane Haruna." "You,young man,
will do no such thing! You need to study more!" She held up Seth's last
exam,a history exam. "There's no excuse for this sloppy grade!"

"A 35!!??!" whined Seth. "I can't believe it!"

"Believe it," said Haruna,smashing the test in his face. "Have your
parents sign this and return it to me tomorrow."

"Ah man..." moaned Seth.

"I can't believe it," said Mark Baker,who was Seth's only friend.
Mark had mussed-up red-orange hair and gray eyes. "You had to flunk
a history exam. Well,don't worry,it's not the final."

"But if MOM and DAD find out,I'll lose my computer privileges for
a year!" sobbed Seth. "They'll also ground me for a month and I'll
never get to play the new Sailor V game that came out!"

Just then,a cute girl with freckles and thick glasses came up. "Hi,
Seth! Heard about your test. Want me to tutor you?"

"Get lost,Melody!" shouted Seth.

"You are such a weirdo,Mel," said Mark. Melody Gachiman was the school
gossip,the school computer-dweeb,AND the smartest girl in school! "Seth
doesn't need a tutor. He needs something to get his mind off the test!"
He then turned to Seth. "Hey,Seth,you can fib to your mom and say you
are over at my house,studying for the next test! We'll go to that new
movie that showed up and then we'll have pizza at Lizzie's place!"

"You two are going to a movie?" asked Melody. "Your grades will slip."
She showed her test,which had a 99. "See? I only got a 99! My mom will
kill me when she finds out!" She began to bawl.

"You're weird,Mel," said Seth.

"Yeah," said Mark. "We two are going to have fun. By the time you get
home,your mom will forget all about that dumb test."

"Really?" asked Seth,lighting up like an Xmas tree.

"Sure," said Mark. "I heard that there were some new games on sale."

"Oh wow!" said Seth. "Anything under $30?"

"Well,we can look around," said Mark. "I know! We can check out my
uncle's shop! You know you love to go THERE,Seth."

Seth grinned. Mark's uncle,Locke Taban,loved to collect all sorts of
neat fantasy figurines and fantasy novels and sell them for cheap.

"Come on,let's go," said Mark as the two boys left.

Melody giggled. "That Seth...he's a hunk,but he's so fantasy otaku."

Elsewhere,in a dark place called the Negaverse,there was a dark palace.
In the throne room sat a woman with red hair and long fingernails. Her
name was Queen Beryl,and she was the ruler of this evil place.

"The oracles states that it is time to attack the human realm," she
said,rubbing her witch-like hands over a glowing crystal orb that was
perched on the top of a staff. "We must unleash the Negaforce."

"Yes," said the throng of people.

"But to do so," she said. "I require energy. Lots of life energy.
We must gather it from the humans of Earth. Jadeite,come forward."

A man with short blonde hair appeared from nowhere. He wore a bland
gray uniform with white piping on the collar.

"How goes your efforts to gather energy,Jadeite?" demanded Beryl.

"Quite well,my queen," said Jadeite with an evil smile. "I have already
gathered energy from Cairo,Paris,London,New York,and Sydney. I will now
attack Tokyo,a center of trade and technology."

"Very well done," said Beryl. "Have you sent your servant?"

"Yes," said Jadeite. "Morga will serve us well. Trust me,my queen. The
humans are nothing,save for that pathetic rebel Sailor V."

"Ah yes," hissed Beryl angrily. "Sailor V has been the bane of our
existence ever since he appeared. I want him dead."

"Morga will find and kill him," said Jadeite,bowing.

"Do not fail me,Jadeite. I have no tolerance for failures."

As soon as Seth and Mark came into the fantasy store,called Fantasia,
they were shocked at what was going on! Young boys and girls were over
at the shelves,picking out figures and stuff. Mark's Uncle,Locke,was
not helping matters by going around and encouraging them.

"That's right,kids," he said. "Pick out anything you want. I'm giving
them away today! Everything is free for today only!"

"Mark,what's going on?" asked Seth,scratching his head. "Your uncle
drop some rat poison in his coffee or something?"

"I dunno," said Mark,shaking his head. "Uncle Locke's acting weird."

Little did they know that "Locke" was actually Morga,who had enchanted
the figures and books to steal energy from whoever held them for more
than a minute. Jadeite smiled as the youma stole energy from the kids.

~You are doing well,~ he told her telepathically. ~Queen Beryl will be
most pleased. Feed the Negaforce,you foolish humans.~

"Hi,Uncle Locke," said Mark.

"Oh,Mark!" said Locke. "I see you brought a new friend."

"UNCLE!" snapped Mark. "You know Seth! He's been here a few times!"

"Ah...oh yeah!" said Locke,guffawing. "Haw haw haw! I guess I forgot!
Age does nasty things to your brain,ya know. So,why are you here?"

"We came to see the latest figures!" said Seth excitedly.

"Oh sure," said Locke,leading them to a display cae. He pulled out a
figure of a female warrior in a leather bikini. "This is the latest
Xena action figure! I'm giving it away to the person who wants it."

"You're giving it away?!" said Seth.

"Uncle,you'll go out of business if you keep this up," said Mark.

Just then,a boy trampled over Seth and nabbed the figure. "It's mine!"
This started a riot where girls and boys crushed Seth and Mark under the
throng of writhing bodies. The two managed to barely escape!

"This is way weird," said Mark,nursing his wounds.

"Yeah Mark," said Seth. "What's up with your uncle?"

"Maybe he's getting too old," sighed Mark. "Mom wants to send him to
the retirement home,but he won't go. Says he's just fine. Maybe mom's
right. Oh well...how about that movie?"

"I can't," said Seth. "I have to show this test to mom. See you."

"Well,some other time then," said Mark as Seth left.

"I can't show my folks THIS!" moaned Seth. He crumpled up the test and
then threw it over his shoulder,beaning someone on the head!

"Ouch!" cried a woman's voice. Seth turned and saw a young woman with
her long black hair braided up a it and wearing a pair of sunglasses.
She wore a dark green sweatshirt and black trousers.

"Oops," Seth said,sweatdropping. "Sorry,miss."

The woman opened up the test and laughed. "No wonder you threw this
away!" she teased. "Anyone who makes THIS low a grade would be upset!"

"NO!" cried the boy,tearing the test from her hands.

"Are you stupid or lazy?" teasted the woman.

Seth socked her in the jaw. "You bitch! Stay away from my papers!"
He stormed in a huff,and the woman rubbed her jaw,then removed her
shades to reveal sparkling blue eyes.

~What's with HIM?!~ she thought to herself.

Seth reached the Crown Game Center. "Oh! The Sailor V game!" he said.
He looked at the poster - it showed a young man with short blonde hair
fighting monsters while wearing a red mask and a strange outfit - a
white tee-shirt with two red strap-suspenders crossed in front of the
chest with a red button on the front and back holding them together;
a white bandanna with a "V" painted on the front;a pair of midnight
blue shorts,and long white socks with red tap shoes. On his arms were
a pair of golden bracelets with moonstone crescents on them.

"I wish I were Sailor V," muttered Seth. "Then I wouldn't have to
study. I'd be so rich from merchandise,I would never have to study."
He sighed. "But who am I kidding? I'm not Sailor V. Mom and dad are
gonna kill me when they find out my grade. Man..."

He walked home while the black cat was watching him.

As soon as Seth got home,his mother confronted him. "So Seth,how did
you do on that history exam you took last Friday?"

Seth gulped. ~She still remembers!~ he thought. "What test?"

"Oh,don't play dumb with me," said Elana. "The one you TOLD me you
had studied for. Where is it?" She held out her hand.

Seth rolled her eyes and handed her the test. She took one look...

"WHAT?! YOU LIED TO ME,SETH!!!" screamed Elana.

"I...I..." said Seth,trying to avoid Mt. Mom from exploding.

"You must have been playing those damned video games again instead
of studying!" shouted Elana,who was clearly on a rampage. "OUT OF MY
HOUSE,YOU FREELOADING SCUM! YOU WILL GO TO THE LIBRARY AND STUDY SOME
MORE,AND IF I EVER CATCH YOU LYING TO ME AGAIN,I'LL THROW YOUR SUPER
FAMICOM INTO THE TRASH COMPACTOR!!" She pushed him out.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" wailed Seth as the door slammed behind him. He banged
on the door. "DON'T THROW AWAY MY SUPER FAMICOM!!! YOU PAID FOR IT!!"
After countless banging on the door,he decided to go to the library
and maybe read some cool fantasy novels. Hey,mom would never know!

Half an hour later,Mark noticed something weird going on.

"I don't feel...too gooooooood..." moaned a girl as she fainted.

"Me neither..." moaned a boy as he collapsed. Soon,everyone in the
store was laid out like a slug. Mark gasped and ran to the phone.

9-1-1,and the operator came on. "Emergency operator,moshi moshi."

"This is Mark Baker,at Fantasia in the Tokyo Mall!" said a panicked
Mark. "Every customer in the store's collapsed. Send medics!" Just
then,a hand grabbed his throat and another picked the receiver up.

"Nothing is wrong here," said Locke,who was the one throttling Mark.
He hung up and looked Mark in the eye. "Why did you do that?"

"Everyone has collapsed,Uncle Locke!" choked Mark.

"Uncle Locke..." said Locke,musing. He then guffawed. "Haw haw haw!
I get it! That fool I locked up in the storeroom! Well,he's safe,but
I cannot say the same thing about you,boy."

Mark let out a scream as he saw his 'uncle' turn into a hideous demon!

Seth went into his room. He had gone to the library and goofed off for
a while,then came back. Ken Getsuno,Seth's father,had arrived home and 
given him a stern lecture on lying and made Seth vow never to do that again. "It's not fair," he mumbled as he lay on his bed. "I am just a
growing boy. I need fun too." He closed his eyes and took a nap.

A minute later,the window carefully opened and the black cat leapt
from the sill to the desk,to the bed. She cautiously approached.

Just then,a breeze slammed the window shut. Seth woke up and turned
about to see the cat staring into his eyes. He got up.

"Oh,it's that cat I saw earlier," Seth remarked. "Hi,cat."

"I have a name!" said the cat in a lilted voice.

Seth bugged out,then pinched his shoulder. It hurt. "You...talk?"

"Of course I talk," said Luna.

"Oh,I get it," said Seth,bobbing his head. "This is some prank by Sammy
and his little girlfriend Mika. Sammy,you're dead!"

"I'm not a joke!" shouted Luna in frustration. "I do talk without help.
I have been searching for someone like you for a long time."

"How long?" asked Seth,wondering if he was hallucinating or not.

"A month," said Luna. "You have been chosen to be a warrior. I was
sent here to guide you to your destiny. I was not sure at first,but
when I studied you a while,I became certain...you are Sailor Moon."

"Who's Sailor Moon?" asked Seth,confused.

"You know Sailor V?"

"Sure," said Seth,smiling. "I even have a Sailor V cart."

"Well,you are a Sailor V," said Luna. "Your name: Sailor Moon. It is
your job to fight the forces of evil."

"Oh cool,like in Final Fantasy!" said Seth. Luna sweatdropped.

~All the boys I had to choose,and I get HIM!~ thought Luna. "So,you'll
help us? You'll fight the forces of evil?"

"Sure,like some video game quest,right?" asked Seth. He decided that,if
this WAS a joke,he could get revenge later.

"Very well," said Luna. She did a backflip and made a golden disk appear
in thin air. Seth's frivolous tone took on a softer edge on seeing this.

"You actually DO magic?" asked Luna. "You must have been trained well."

Luna didn't know whether to be insulted or flattered,so she just went
on with her instructions. "That is a special locket for you," she said.
"Put that on." The locket glowed and a necklace was made for it,so that
Seth could wear it over his neck. He put it on.

"Pretty cool," said Seth. "So what now?"

Luna shrugged. "Say 'Moon Prism Power' and you'll get your uniform."

"Neato!" said Seth,deciding to try it out. "MOON PRISM POWER!"

He suddenly jolted as his clothing dissolved into light. However,ribbons
of pink light surrounded his body and clothed him in an outfit similar
to Sailor V's with the blue short,white t-shirt,and white socks and the
bandanna. However,his bandanna had a yellow moon crescent on the front
and he had a ribbon of red cloth around his neck with a crescent moon
gem on the front. He also wore red sneakers with gold highlights,and
his bracelets were silver,not gold. The locket was embedded in the chest 
without the necklace. He saw a phrase of exclamation.

"Oh great Kami-sama," he muttered in shock. He realized that this was
no dream,no joke,and no hallucination. Moreover,he felt different.

"That is your battle outfit," said Luna. "Now,you need to get over to
the Fantasia store because your friend,Mark,is in serious danger."

The moon on Seth's neck flashed and a voice was heard. "AAAAAH!!"

"Mark!" he said. "But...can I fight?"

"You have to!" said Luna. "This is your destiny."

"I didn't expect to be LIVING Sailor V!" said Seth in shock.

"HELP! HELP!! AAAAAH!!" cried Mark,choking and gasping as the monster
strangled him. "What did you do to Uncle Locke!?"

"Ha ha ha," said Morga. "There's no saving you now,boy. I'll kill off
your old coot uncle when I take you down!"

"HEEEEEEELP!!!" choked Mark,who passed out.

"Let him go."

Morga looked up at the shadow figure in the doorway. "Who's there?"

"I said...LET HIM GO!!!" shouted the boy. He stepped forward and
revealed himself to be Seth. "That is my friend you are hurting!"

"Ah,Sailor V," said Morga. "We meet at last."

"I'm not Sailor V!" shouted Seth. "My hair's different! I am Sailor
Moon,the champion of justice! And I say let him go,or I will punish
you in the name of the moon!" He pointed at Morga.

"Sailor Moon...ridiculous name," chortled Morga. She dropped Mark.
"I will have the pleasure of killing you! Arise,my slaves!"

Seth gulped as the kids got up,blank expressions on their faces.
"You fight FAIR,don't you?" said Seth. "You've got a whole army!"

"Only because you are a little brat!" snapped Morga. "Kill him!"

The kids started to attack Sailor Moon. He tried to avoid the attacks,
but Morga then smashed him into a wall. He freaked.

"I'M BLEEDING!!!" Seth screamed. "This is NO video game! I'm outtie!"

"You can't leave,Sailor Moon!" said Luna. "You must defeat this evil
monster,or the entire Universe could cease to exist!"

"I don't want to play this game anymore!" screamed Seth. He was scared
stiff. This was no game where one could press Reset and start over. If
Seth died,he was dead for good. He saw Morga attacking and screamed.

Just then,something streaked through the air and stopped the attack.
Seth saw it - a red lotus,embedded into the floor. Morga looked at the
attacker. "And who are you?" she hissed.

The figure in the window was gorgeous! She had long black hair in a
braid,a white mask over her face,and wore a flowing cape over a fancy
black Japanese kimono which was embroidered with lotuses.

"I am Lotus Mask," said the woman in a soft voice. "Sailor Moon,you
will not be able to succeed in life if you run from all your problems."

"But I'm scared," said Seth. He cried a tear onto his locket,and it
shimmered with light! Then the moon crescent on his bandanna and the
crescent gem on his neck flashed with light and flooded the entire room.

"AAAAAAH!!" cried Morga,covering her eyes. "WHAT IS THAT POWER?!!"

The kids fell over,writhing under the influence of the light.

"Now's your chance,Sailor Moon!" shouted Luna. "Take off your bandanna
and throw it at the monster,with the chant 'Moon Bandanna Magic!'"

"I'm not Ryouga Hibiki," said Seth.

"Do it..." growled Luna.

Seth shrugged and yanked off his bandanna,then discovered that it had
changed into a glowing discus of light! He spun about once and threw it
with the cry of "MOON BANDANNA MAGIC!" The disc spun in mid-air.

"AAAAAAAaaaaaaaahh..." cried Morga. *KABOOM!!!!* With a flash of light,
the monster was slain. "You haven't heard the last of..." she croaked
as she crumbled into dust. Jadeite saw the energy fade.

"Damn," he muttered,clenching his fist angrily.

"Well done,Sailor Moon," said Lotus Mask. "You are indeed more of a
warrior than you think you are. Thanks to you,the kids are saved.
There will harder battles,but I will there for you. Ta ta!" She left.

"Hmmm..." said Seth,smiling. His eyes lit up. "I'm in love..."

"Sailor Moon?!" said Luna.

The next day,Mark was telling his classmates everything. "I had a weird
dream,guys. I was being attacked by this ugly monster,but then this cool
guy called Sailor Moon shows up and slays it! He's so wicked!"

"No way!" said a boy. "I had the same dream!"

"Me too!" said another kid. "Hey Seth,what about you?"

"I'm tired,I had a long night," muttered Seth,his head on the desk.
"Now,I have to take a nap. See you." He went back to sleep.
