It's been a while, a really long while, since I posted
anything to the FFML, and today I just realized it,
though the e-mails of 'are you still writing at all?'
were also a bit of a hint that I haven't shown much lately.

I am working on stuff, it's just that I don't wanna
release it until it's ready to go. To prove that
stuff is really moving, here's snippets of a few
projects that are brewing. Of all of them,
the one that's the soonest to be released will be
Children of an Elder God part 9. It's just about
done aside from one or two minor tweaks I have to
confer with John about. It was supposed to be
released last week, but circumstances set things
back.

There was this little black box.

The Joker really wasn't too concerned about it at first. He
had better things to do than poke around his new body.
Killing people, for example, was high on his list.

Every now and then, though, he'd poke around the internal
schematics information stored within. That was why he
started using the nifty gravity-blast punches.

Now, however, he didn't have much else to do but see what
the bits and pieces of him were, especially since he was
still a partially mangled heap. So it was an eventuality
that he'd start looking at the nondescript black box.

And what he discovered really made him smile.

Rei stirred from her bed, an annoyed look on her
face. She paced the room, slowly, then stepped out to her
balcony.

She looked up to the stars, searching for something
unknown. Far away, the star Alderberaan shone in the night
sky, mesmerizing her with its sparkling light.

And as she stared, she hummed to herself a
disjointed melody.

It was now 3:30 am, London time. Mara had been trapped
dancing for the last three and a half hours, nonstop.
She was exhausted, yet forced to dance on.

Through sheer force of will, she'd managed to edge slowly to
the doors. A few more meters and...

"Heya, Mara!"

"What the- YOU!"

Easing her way next to the demoness, moving to the beat in a
way that had the male half of the crowd very much at
attention. In addition to being surprised, Mara now felt
envious.

"So how long have YOU been watching?" growled Mara, still
bonded to the disco beat against her will.

"Oh, for the last hour," said Urd, dancing alongside her old
nemesis and friend. "How'd you get yourself into THIS
mess?"

"I didn't know it was gonna be Disco revival night!" growled
Mara.

Urd laughed, pissing Mara off even more. "Well c'mon, then!
Let's dance some more!"

"But I don't wanna! No! Stop it!"

The Faith Machine part 2
horror

                     -*-

Hundreds they were, the limbless, blind, voiceless,
hairless, nearly mindless creatures that were once human,
connected as one by an intricate web of wires. The
tentacle-like mass passed through their bodies, through
their skulls, in and out of their empty eye-sockets.

They writhed, but were held in place by iron manacles over
their necks and bodies. They groaned, though with their
vocal chords torn out of their throats, the sound was
nothing more than a hollow wheeze.

Cogs and wheels in the Faith Machine.

Far above the massive room that held them, a small group of
men watched. They peered out of a darkened room, their eyes
seemingly shining white in the darkness. The tingle of
energy was in the air, making their hairs nearly stand on
end.

They could feel it in the air.

The power.
