Great, I hope I didn't start any more debates. Well, thanks for the
info, and I'll keep it in mind in my next fic, and in the rewrite I
may do on this one. Rewrite, hmm. Okay, I'll add something to the
beginning. Change that fact so it no longer is a problem. Yeah...
Gods, I love playing with the fabric of reality. (:) (Double Smiley,
gotta love it.)

Ahem. That should do it.
Now, as much as I love seeing Gendo get squished, I'm afraid Shinji's
reasons don't agree with certain segments of EoE. There is a little 30
second piece within the film, sometime after the end of the world has
begun, that shows Yui and Fuyutsuki(sp?) talking. In this little segment it
is revealed that Yui is going to *INTENTIONALLY* allow herself to be
absorbed into Unit 01! Yui's 'death' is not an accident, it's Yui's bid for
immortallity! Since the Eva units are effectively immortal, Yui wishes to
merge with the Eva in order to leave a lasting legacy of mankind for
eternity. Unfortunately, she fails to inform Gendo of this little bit of
info, trusting in him to watch after Shinji for her.
So, Yui's 'death' is NOT Gendo's fault. Everything else that happens
afterwards is, but really, the one responsible for starting the whole mess
is Yui herself, with a little help from Fuyutsuki.
There, my little rant is ended. Hope this helps someone.
