A = Yes, I watched the anime; fansubbed mind you. When I saw the first
episodes I was like; "Why the heck are some of these characters so
stupid?!">>
Take in consideration that Genma is a pathetic sniveling bastard. Also take
into consideration that he was the only actual person that Ranma was
influenced or 10 years straight. So obviously Ranma is gonna turn out pretty
screwed.
Now for Akane, she's just a spoiled bitch. Everyone glorifies her and is the
best martial artist in the town to her knowledge. She doesn't have to cook,
clean, try to support that family, etc.. She's gonna be really stuck up and
proud.
Kasumi, airhead....nuff said. Probably because of the death of her mother so
she had to become the mother.
Nabiki. She has to support the family. Has to learn what's it like in the
real world so will be hardenned.
Soun........pathetic crybaby. the death of his wife probably knocked him
silly. Doesn't teach...oh hell he doesn't do anything for his family. Him I
can't really come up with a plausible explanation except maybe that he and
Genma are similiar in more ways than one and enjoys mooching off others, even
if they are his own kin.
<< B = Yes, I read the manga. But it was done by Viz. I was really
interested in the series back then. And looking back I was wondering
which drug I was on, if any, that would drive me to buy them. No,
wait! Mikado Sanzenin and Mousse! That's why I was so interested. >>
Have you even gone ahead and look through all the mangas up to volume 38?
It does get more interesting. Also, Sanzenin is one fucked up asshole.
Mousse, his character can be justifiable, but he's still a blind (physically
and mentally) obssesive weirdo.
<< C = During that time I made an anti-fic series of Ranma 1/2. I've yet
to release it over the FFML however...
And it's not true. A martial arts show does _NOT_ have to be as long
and as drawn out as Dragonball Z. Forever cursed should be the idiots
who decided to bring this series overseas (when there are much better
stuff to bring over). There's Street Fighter V for example. Everyone
fights, but it didn't take them a whole damn twenty episodes to battle! >>
I agree with you that DBZ was a pathetic story where the plot was just stupid
battles of beings too powerful for their own good. But, I think a better
example of a martial arts show would either be Rurouni Kenshin or Yawara. I
don't think Street Fighter V is that great nor would be a good example of a
good martial arts anime.
<<My apologies to everyone out there. I was just venting my anger at the
fact that there's more Ranma fics than anything else. >>
Well Ranma 1/2 is a very diverse anime. There are several ways at looking at
the story line and very easy to combine it with other stories. It's also more
well-known than other animes. Since there are so many characters with
different goals, authors have a lot more to work with.
<< If anybody has the chance could someone please direct me to a "good" Ranma
fanfic; one where there's no abuse to anyone. >>
Well what would you consider a good fanfic? If you want to read fanfics where
there isn't any abuse at all, than look for WAFFy fanfics. Try Joseph
Palmer's colors and seasons fanfics.
