you started to get way way off topic on that one, switching from Tenchi Muyo
fanfics to Colombine. Ranma 1/2 is a TV show that you can poke fun at and
change. It was left with nothing resolved and that draws people to write the
fanfics. also, it is an easily understood show and thusly, easier to write
about. I also see the series with a few different eyes. Genma is an abusive
father, thusly Ranma doesn't grow up without any Scars. Also she might have
been making fun of how people seem to always cast blame on others, or how
loneliness can effect people. It is all a matter of perspective. Also, if I
was holding my standards as high as I would any American cartoon, I would
have to say Ranma would suck, but in terms of the Anime I have seen, it is
better than some. Also, Ranma was never really about Martial arts, it was
about this insane love web, and how the curse effects it. If it was a
Martial Arts anime, then you would have characters as powerful or more
powerful as the Dragonball Z characters.
Also, I do agree that there is quite a bit of Ranma or Ranma
Crossovers. Thats one reason most of my fics are crossovers or different
perspective. Seeing there aren't as many crossovers as pure Ranma, it adds
to Ranma, but introduces other series to the audiance. Another thing is that
the writers of fanfics are doing this for fun, not really for the benefit of
the reader. Sure they like criticism and the like, but the main purpose of
writing a fanfic is to improve the skill of the write or make a point or
observation about the stories presented by the or Magna.
