"Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" was a VERY cheesey
beach blanket movie in the 1960's that featured an evil scientist
who created robot bikini babes. One might even call them a prototype
sexaroids.
From Leonard Maltin's movie reviews -
"Mad scientist tries to make a fortune manufacturing lifelike lady robots to
marry wealthy men. Good chase scene, but otherwise just silly. Panavision."
Dr Goldfoot himself was played by the great actor and
horror movie star Vincent Price. He considered it one of the most
_fun_ movies he'd ever worked on.
It guest stars the singer and 60's teen heart-throb Frankie
Avalon, and was one of a string of beach movies made during the 60's.
Lots of Beach Party movie regulars pop up - Harvey Lembeck, Annette
Funicello, etc.
The sequel, "Dr Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs", made in Italy, wasn't
as good, but featured WONDERFUL scenes where Mr. Price stole the show
and chewed the scenery.
The tag lines,
"Don't Touch!..These are Booby Bombs (Booby traps with curves)"
and
"The girls with the Thermo-Nuclear Navels!"
make these two movies hilarious tie-ins with Bubblegum Crisis. Silvie with
her neutron-bomb armed mecha, the sexaroids themselves, a mad scientist..
it's just TOO perfect.
