Ukyo tried giving up okonomiyaki to devote more time to Ranma (I think it
was in vol. 19).  It made her miserable and Ranma eventually persuaded her
to reverse her decision.  There's a lot more to the story than that, but it
shows a couple of major problems with Nodoka's plan.  For one,Ukyo's already
proven that she's willing to give up okonomiyaki.  More importantly, Ranma
wouldn't want anyone to give something up on his behalf (well, maybe
Kodachi).

Also, what happens if more than one of the fiancees is willing to make the
sacrifice.  Or what if Ranma refuses to go along with the selection.  He
hasn't been willing to listen to anyone else
