Looking around on the web, I happened to notice this article. While most
of it is snipped out, I thought that the third paragraph might be of
particular interest to people on the list. While later in the article,
there's a link to the submitted report, when I followed the link, I was

said they had managed to cause
growing human hairs to take up genetic
material -- and said it had been easier
than they expected.
So far, they have only been able to turn
hair blue. But they say the idea could
someday be applied to growing hair.
You know, I always wanted blue hair...naturally!
Seriously, through, that sorta gives a new meaning to the expression of "dipping
into the shallow end of the gene pool." Hmm...I wonder...you don't suppose
that's how Washu got her funky hair color by genetically altering it to pink?
