It's a longshot, I know, but does anyone know a Chinese word meaning
"bimbo", "stupid woman", "half-wit", or just "stupid"?
Stupid would be (this is not ping-yin, just my own rough romanization, so
you might want to check with someone else who actually knows ping-yin)
bin-dan, sagwa or fan tong (the last roughly translates as rice container.
Basically, it means that you're so stupid that the only thing you can do
correctly is eat).
Looks right--I think that's the correct pinyin. Except...I thought the last
one was Fan-to (lit. "Rice Head"). Maybe I'm wrong; I never insulted people
in Mandarin because my parents never taught me to :)
Ack, didn't reply this to the ffml also. I hope this is relevent to
some of you and not just spam.
No, Fan Tong is correct, I heard it used before. Never heard anyone use
fan-to before to insult a person before, so don't know if it's correct
or not. The first should be Ben Dan, meaning 'stupid-egg' litterally.
The second should be Sha Gua, meaning silly cucumber litterally.
The first is really minor and could be used to insult a friend in a
friendly manner. The second is even more minor and might be something a
parent would say to a child. Fan Tong is usually used from superior to
an subordinate.
A specific word could be Sha Po, for stupid woman.
