Episode 5: Doublecross in Seattle. The Bankrobbing Soldiers Attack.

Robbing banks by daylight. 
Hiding out by moonlight. 
Getting out of situations that are tight. 
She is the one named Soldier Moon. 

Last time on Bankrobbing Soldiers, everything was pretty quiet. No one was 
killed and no crimes were committed. Ami made a device that transports matter 
but software was need. So the Soldiers decided to head to Microsoft and steal 
a military copy. Meanwhile, the DK were sent to Seattle as well. The crime 
count remains the same. 

<Opening Scene: The DK are looking and pointing at a map on the airplane. > 

   "I'll watch Westside Bank," said Beryl. 
   "I'll watch the one downtown," said Zoisite. 
   "I'll watch Eastside," said Malachite. 
   "I'll watch the North," said Jadeite. 
   "I'll watch the Central bank," said Nephlyte. 
   "I'll watch the Southside," said Shields. "Hey this one's a few blocks 
from 
********************************************* 
 Seattle-Tacoma International Airport 

   A shady figure with a package under his arm walked up to the DK. 
   "A gift from the FBI," the man said. He handed it to Agent Beryl and 
scurried away. 
   "Should we open it?" asked Agent Malachite. 
   Beryl shrugged and ripped it open. Inside were six pairs of white gloves, 
six sets of keys, and a note. It read: 
  
     'Put on gloves, aim, focus, and fire. Black energy bolts should 
     fire if done right.' 

   Shields decided to test the gloves. He put on a pair and aimed at a 
passenger's suitcase. A black bolt of energy blasted the suitcase into 
pieces. 
   "Hot Damn!" said Malachite. 
   "When testing please use somewhere without civilians," Beryl read. 
   "A little late for that now," said Jadeite. 
   Beryl, although slightly angry, continued to read. "You will find your 
vehicles waiting outside. If you have difficulty finding them, look for the 
shady figure that handed you this package. He will be waiting by them. 
Remember your mission, locate the bank robbers and bring them to justice. 
Good luck."

Seattle 

   The Soldiers drove to a park in the cars and stepped out. Makoto was 
looking out a pair of binoculars. 
   "You called Miles in Portland, right?" Usagi asked. 
   "Yep." Makoto responded. 
   "So where is he?" 
   "He said that he'd give us a signal." 
   "Are you sure he's not lying to us?" Rei inquired. 
   Just then there was a loud explosion. Makoto and the others turned in its 
direction to see the Space Needle come tumbling to the ground. Ami, Rei, 
Usagi, and Minako stared in awe. 
   "Very sure." 
********************************************* 
   Seattle-Tacoma International Airport 

   The DK began to enter the cars when they heard the loud explosion. They 
all looked up to see what it was. 
   "Holy $#^&!" exclaimed Malachite. "Did you guys see that?" 
   "Yeah!" said Nephlyte. "The Space Needle just blew up!" 
   "This must be the work of those girls," Jadeite accused. "Let's go!" With 
that, the five agents jumped in their cars and sped off.

   Space Needle Ruins, Seattle 

   Miles waited for the girls by a pay phone. He wore a trench coat, 
sunglasses, and khakis. He smiled as he looked at his handiwork. 
   "Miles," a voice called. He turned and saw Makoto standing with her 
friends. They embraced and kissed a very long kiss. 
   Minako began counting. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9..." 
   "They're going to suffocate," said Ami. 
   "Stay fresh a little longer, kiss a little longer, stay close a little 
longer, longer with Big Red," Rei sang 
   "49,50,51,52,53..." 
   "This can't go on much longer," Artemis said. 
   "71,72,73,75..." 
   "Any second now," said Luna. 
   They finally let go. 
   "83 seconds," Minako announced. "That has to be a record." 
   Makoto ran her fingers through his curly brown hair. "You haven't changed 
one bit," she said. 
   "Nice to see you, Lita," Miles told her. 
   "The names Makoto now," she corrected. 
   "Who are your friends?" 
   "They're Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Minako," she said, motioning to each. 
   "Hello," The other four girls said in unison. Miles nodded. 
   "Ahem!" 
   "Who said that?" asked Miles. 
   "Oh, these are Luna and Artemis." 
   "Talking cats?" Miles inquired with a look of surprise on his face. 
   "Pleased to meet you, Miles," Artemis told him, extending a paw. Miles 
knelt over and shook it. 
   "Why did you two break up?" Usagi asked. 
   "We didn't," Miles answered. "My parents just moved to Seattle." 
   "And on our last day together, he made pi$$ed me off royally," Makoto 
added, tensing up then calming down. "But I'm willing to overlook that now." 
   "Show us where you live so we can get on with our plans." 
   "Sure." 
********************************************* 
Miles' Apartment, Seattle 

   "This is a nice place," Ami commented. 
   "Thank you," said Miles. "Can I get you ladies anything to drink?" 
   "No." 
   "No." 
   "No." 
   "No." 
   "No. Let's get started," said Usagi. 
   Ami pulled out her computer. Everyone huddled together as she began to 
pull up the Microsoft building headquarters. 
   Usagi began to give orders. "We'll attack in the early morning but today, 
we stake out the place. Print those blueprints, Ami." Ami printed them. Usagi 
began pointing rapidly. "There are four floors and a basement where programs 
are developed. Ami, you go to the basement and get that disk. I'll watch the 
top floor. Makoto, you get the first floor. Rei, you get the second and, 
Minako, you get the third. Kill anyone that's not wearing a fuku. Miles, what 
kind of bombs do you have?" 
   "Pipe bombs, plastic explosives, two sticks of dynamite, and some 
grenades," he answered. "I also have some flak jackets. Everyone stared at 
him. 
   "Where did you get all of that?" Artemis asked him. 
   Miles smirked. "I've got connections." 
   "Speaking of connections," Luna said, "my source in the FBI said the 
agents on our tails are here in Seattle holding posts at banks. They have no 
idea what we're doing. So as long as we don't get greedy and rob any banks, 
we should be okay." 
   "But the fact that they're here presents a problem," Minako commented. 
"What if they spot us?" 
   "We'll just have to keep a low profile," Rei told her. 
   "I have a friend that sells x-ray glasses," Miles announced. "They work 
extremely well." 
   "Do you have a pair we can test right now?" Makoto asked. 
   "Yes, I do. Let me go get them." Miles walked to a closet and fumbled 
around. He finally pulled out a pair of glasses and put them on. 
   "These things are excellent," Miles continued. "This knob controls the 
number of layers it can see through." 
   Rei didn't believe him. "Humph. Prove that they work," She commanded. 
   "Fine. I'll tell you the color of the underwear you're wearing." Miles 
turned the knob and set the glasses to one layer. "Red bra, red panties. 
   Rei blushed and covered herself with her arms. 
   "Well at least we know they work," Makoto said. 
   "Go see if you can pick up seven more pairs," Usagi told him. She handed 
him some money. 
   "Take this, too," Makoto added, handing him a gun. "If you're going to 
work with us, you need to be protected." 
   "Thanks," he said. "I'll be right back." Miles left the apartment. 
   "This job is going to be fun," Minako said with a smirk on his face.

Space Needle Ruins 
  
   Five of the six DK members stood before the crime scene. Dozens of police 
officers, firemen {and women. Must be politically correct.} And paramedics 
were already there. 
   "I don't get it," announced a puzzled Beryl. "I just don't understand why 
they'd destroy the Space Needle." 
   "Probably to make their mark," Jadeite said. 
   "It's just another charge on their list of crimes," said Malachite. "We'll 
catch them." 
   Zoisite was shaken. "So many innocent people. Why would they do such a 
thing? How could they be so heartless?" She leaned against Malachite's chest 
and began to cry. 
   "Aw jeez," he said. "She's going to ruin my suit. Do you mind, Zoisite? 
   Zoisite looked up at him with a trembling lip. She began bawling harder 
and ran to her car. 
   "You guys could be a little considerate, you know," Beryl said. 
   "Right now, I'm more considered about what's for dinner," Nephlyte 
announced. Beryl shot him a look of surprise. 
   "How about squab?" suggested Jadeite. 
   "Isn't that pigeon?" Malachite inquired. Jadeite nodded affirmatively. 
   "Since when do they serve roast pigeon in Washington?" Nephlyte asked. 
   Jadeite raised his hand and shot a pigeon out of the sky, thoroughly 
roasting it. "Since right now," he answered smugly. The guys began to laugh 
but Beryl stomped off, disgusted with their antics. 
   "Hey!" Malachite yelled. "What's Shields doing under our cars?" 
   Shields ran over to them. "Hey guys how's it going?" he asked. 
   "What were you doing?" Nephlyte asked him. 
   Shields got worried. "Oh, I, uh, I thought our cars were leaking oil so I 
checked." 
   Jadeite eyed him suspiciously. Then he shrugged his shoulders. "No harm in 
that, right?" Everyone else shrugged. 
   "The fools!" Shields thought. "They have no idea what they're in for." 
********************************************* 
Microsoft HQ, Seattle 

   From across the street, the soldiers staked out their target. 
   "These X-ray glasses work great, Miles," Usagi told him. 
   "They only have one security guard." Ami noted. "And the engineers 
downstairs probably work through the night." 
   "I have an idea," Makoto said. "How about Miles goes downstairs with Ami. 
When they get the disk, they run back up and toss some grenades downstairs. 
Then we all go upstairs and exit from the roof." 
   "I like that plan," said Rei. "What about you, Miles." 
   "It's fine with me." 
   "Then it's settled." 
   Luna's collar started to beep. Everyone stared at her. 
   "Excuse me," she said and walked around a corner. When she was sure no one 
was around and the man in the alley was asleep, she began to talk. "Shields 
come in." 
   "Shields here," said the other voice. "The bombs are set under their cars 
and they don't suspect a thing." 
   "Perfect," Luna said. "Where are you now?" 
   "We're headed toward the hotel." 
   "Do you have the control to set the bombs off?" 
   "Yes." 
   "I'm set up at the bank a few blocks from the Microsoft building. As soon 
as I spot you guys, I'll call the rest and let them know. As they're driving 
here, I'll press the button and their cars will go boom!" 
   "Good. After that, you come meet us," she told him. "I'll inform them that 
you're coming so they don't shoot you on sight." 
   "Okay. Shields out." 
   "Luna out." 
   The other man in the alley looked up to see who had disturbed his sleep. 
"Hey, lady, could you keep it down?" 
   "Er, sorry, sir," Luna apologized. 
   "Talking cat? Now I know I've been drinking too much." He rolled over and 
mumbled. "At least it's a change from pink elephants." 
   Luna breathed a sigh of relief and walked out of the alley. 
   "What's going on?" Usagi asked. 
   "You remember the source I told you I have in the FBI? He's here." 
   "You mean he's one of the DK?" Minako asked. 
   Luna nodded. "He's stationed at he bank down the street. He'll be here to 
help us tomorrow, so if you see someone wearing a tuxedo, please don't 
shoot." 
   "Are the rest of the DK on our side as well?" Artemis questioned. 
   "No but they'll be dead by six o' clock so we don't have to worry about 
them." 
   "Let's get some rest," Rei suggested. "We've got to get up early tomorrow 
and I get cranky when I don't sleep." 
   "Does that mean you never sleep?" Makoto asked. The two girls eyed each 
other. Miles began to make cat sounds.

Suave Hotel, Seattle 

   Agent Shields sat at the edge clutching his head. He was having serious 
moral dilemmas. 
   "There's no way I can go through with this," he thought. "I can't betray 
my friends. I'd disgrace my family, the entire FBI, and myself. What if I got 
caught? I'd be tried for treason. I've got to call Luna and tell her I can't 
do it. She'll understand." Shields picked up his phone. His hand was 
trembling. "No. I must do it. I made a promise. I never go back on my 
promises." He slammed the phone down and looked at the clock. 8:00. Shields 
rolled over and tried to get some sleep. 
  
   "I can't believe those guys were such jerks," she said audibly although no 
one was around. "They didn't even care about Zoisite's feelings. Especially 
Malachite." She couldn't take it any longer. She stormed off to Malachite's 
room and banged on the door. "Open up, Malachite! I know you're in there!" 
   Jadeite and Nephlyte opened their doors and simultaneously yelled, "Keep 
it down, lady!" as they didn't know her. 
   Malachite finally opened his door. "What is it, Beryl?" 
   "Go to Zoisite right now and tell her you're sorry for how you acted 
earlier," he commanded. 
   "Who do you think you are?" Malachite asked angrily. "You may be the boss 
of this operation but you don't order me around like some damn child." 
   "How could you be so cruel towards the feelings of others. Can't you see 
se has feeling for you? Why do you think she cried against you instead of the 
others? Whether the feelings are mutual, you need to learn to show respect 
towards others." 
   "Beryl, you are disturbing the other guests in the hotel. I suggest you 
leave before I call security." He slammed the door in her face before she 
could say another word. Beryl stomped back to her room and slammed the door. 

   "I'm having enough trouble as it is trying to sleep." Shields thought. "I 
wish those two outside would shut up." 

   Rain began to fall just as the sun went down as if it was hiding. It began 
to pour harder and thunder crashed. Lightning cracked in the distance. 
Malachite ignored the sounds as he sat on his bed watching television. It 
wasn't easy. The couple upstairs sounded as though they were on their 
honeymoon, which contributed thumps, bumps, and squeaks to the patter of the 
rain, but, somehow, he ignored it all. It wasn't all the noise that was 
keeping him awake, however, it was what Beryl said earlier that evening that 
was eating away at him. The more he thought about it, he more he felt the 
urge to pick up his cellular phone and call Zoisite. He finally picked up his 
phone and dialed her number. Several rings went by with no answer. Malachite 
was compelled to hang up but something inside him forced him to stay on the 
line. 
   "Hello?" a weak, tired voice came from the other line. 
   "Zoisite, it's me." 
   "Malachite? Do you have any idea what time it is?" 
   "I know it's late but I want to apologize for my behavior earlier today." 
   "Apology accepted. Now good night." With that she hanged up the phone. 

   Beryl took off her earphones. She had been tapping the lines of all her 
partners' phones. "I knew he'd do it," she said smugly, proud of her small 
victory. She rolled over and went to sleep. 

   Shields woke up again. He couldn't stay asleep longer than five minutes. 
This time he decided to call Luna for sure. 
********************************************* 
Miles' Apartment 

   Luna's collar began to beep again. 
   "Somebody turn that noise off!" shouted Rei. 
   "What the hell is that?" asked Minako. 
   Luna trudged to the bathroom and answered her collar there. What is it, 
Shields?" she asked drowsily. 
   "I can't do it," Shields said. "I can't betray my friends." 
   "Are you sure about this?" Luna asked. 
   "Yes, I've given it a lot of thought. But don't worry. Your secret's safe 
with me," he reassured her. 
   "I'll tell you what," Luna said. "If you stay with us, I'll hook you up 
with Usagi." 
   "The meatball-headed girl?" 
   "You said you like her, right?" 
   "Well, yes. But don't you think she's a little young for me?" 
   "Right now, that's the least of our worries. The little minor offense that 
you're thinking of is nothing compared to what we've done." 
   "I see your point," Shields said. He pondered his decision for a moment. 
"Okay, it's a deal." 
   "Good. I knew you'd see things my way." 
   "See you tomorrow. Bye." 
   "Bye." Luna went back to the where the girls were sleeping and went back 
to bed.

Early Morning 

   The rain had stopped but an eerie blue light shown throughout the city. 
The DK were up early and already at their assigned banks. They had to keep 
vigil on their targets all day. By the time they were comfortably at their 
banks, the Soldiers and their new friend were already on their way to 
Microsoft. 
They pulled up in front of the Southside bank. Usagi, who was driving the 
silver car, lightly honked her horn twice to signal Shields. Then the two 
cars drove the rest of the way to Microsoft. 
   Shields blasted the security guard inside with his gloves. He then pulled 
out his walkie-talkie and called the other members of the DK. 
   "The Soldiers are in front of my bank! They're going to rob this place. I 
can't hold them off by myself. I need backup" he announced. For a liar, he 
sounded very convincing. "Come quick! Shields out." He waited two minutes to 
be sure the others were in their cars. Then he pulled out the control, said a 
short prayer, and pressed the button. None of the others were near his bank 
but he could still hear the faint explosions in the still, quiet air. A tear 
rolled down his cheek. Shields wiped it off and hopped in his car.

Microsoft HQ, Seattle 

   The Soldiers rolled up in front of the building. "Okay Minako, just like 
we practiced," Usagi said. 
   "Right." Minako stepped out of the car and ran to the front door. She 
banged on for all she was worth screaming, "Help! Help! There's someone 
chasing me!" 
   The security guard ran to he door and let her inside. "What's wrong little 
lady?" 
   "Nothing's wrong with me but your head's going to hurt in the morning!" 
She pulled out her gun and blasted the security guard several times in the 
head. She looked at his desk and saw that he had triggered an alarm. "Damn!" 
   The others ran in with Agent Shields with them. "We've got a new friend!" 
Soldier Moon announced. "He's coming with me." 
   "Fine but we better hurry up. That guard triggered an alarm," Minako told 
them. 
   "Okay," they said in unison. Miles wired the front door to explode on 
contact. Then he and Mercury went downstairs to the basement. 
   Police response was swift. As soon as the alarm sounded, hundreds of 
officers were on their way. A helicopter flew to the scene as well. 
   "Which of you has the Matter Transporter Disk?" Mercury yelled at a dozen 
engineers. One raised his hand. "Give it to me!" she demanded. 
   "No!" Miles shot the man. Mercury snatched the now bloody disk off of his 
desk. 
   "Let's go." She and Miles ran up the stairs. 
   Halfway up, Miles tossed three grenades down. Back on the first floor, 
Miles grabbed Mercury and dove to the floor. "Fire in the hole!" he shouted. 
Jupiter dropped down and covered her head. The three grenades exploded and a 
fireball blew the basement door off of the hinges. Mercury screamed. The 
explosion shook the entire building. 
   From the roof, Luna and Artemis watched the outside of the building and 
they did not like what they saw. The helicopter was mounted with a machine 
gun and hovering over the building. Police and SWAT teams were preparing to 
enter. Both were wearing their X-ray glasses. Artemis communicated with the 
team telepathically. 
   "Everyone listen. Officers have the building surrounded. The grenades have 
weakened the building's structure and it will collapse in fifteen minutes. If 
we don't hurry we won't make it out alive." 
   "We hear you loud and clear Artemis," Mercury said aloud although he 
couldn't hear her. They ran up the stairs. 
   "I'll hold the others off," said Jupiter. 
   Unfortunately, Soldier Moon and Darien (as he asked everyone to call him) 
didn't hear Artemis' message. They were busy making out as if there would be 
no tomorrow. The only thing that broke them up was the helicopter light as 
the helicopter hovered down to the top floor and flashed its light in their 
eyes. 
   "Holy," Darien was drowned out by the sound of machine gun fire and 
shattering glass. The barrage of bullets barely missed the couple as Darien 
dove to the floor on top of Moon. 
   "Can this wait for later?" she asked. 
   "Unfortunately it will have too," he replied. "You to the left and I'll 
run to the right." Soldier Moon nodded her head. The two stood up and ran in 
opposite directions. The pilot couldn't focus on two targets at once and 
couldn't decide at whom he should shoot. Darien tripped and fell to the 
ground. The helicopter turned in his direction. 
   Soldier Moon pulled out her moon wand. "No one shoots at my boyfriend! 
Moon Hyper Beam Blast! A large, white laser beam shot from the crown atop the 
wand and blasted the helicopter, which burst into flames and crashed down on 
the units below. Luckily for them, they got out of the way. 
   Moon walked over to Darien. "Like the fireworks, baby?" 
   "They were great," he said. "Now where were we?" 
   "Let me jog your memory," she jumped on him. 
   "Now I remember." They started to make out again. 
   A SWAT team member attempted to kick the front door down on the first 
floor, but blew his leg off in the process. Others ran in behind him and met 
the rigid, Soldier Jupiter. 
   "Lay down on the ground and surrender now!" one yelled. 
   "Not on your life!" Jupiter raised her antenna. It started to crackle with 
lightning. 
   "She about to attack! Fire!" The SWAT team let out a barrage of bullet. 
   The green-fuku soldier put up her hands. "Jupiter Electromagnetic Field!" 
A wall of lightning appeared inches in front of her. As bullets passed 
through it, they stopped, reversed direction, and flew back at their owners, 
killing them. 
   "Those bullet-proof vests aren't all they're cracked up to be," Jupiter 
commented. She ran to the elevator and headed to the roof. I wonder why the 
others didn't see this." 
   As Miles and Soldier Mercury ran up he stairs, they stopped on each floor 
to get their comrades. When they had all reached the top floor, they couldn't 
see the two love birds. 
   "Usagi! Darien!" Venus called. 
   Darien sat straight up. "What?" 
   "Let's go you two," Rei shouted. "Have you forgotten that the building 
will collapse?" 
   The two bolted up the stairs with the others but the final door to the 
roof was locked. Miles shot the lock off of the door then kicked it open. 
They saw a waiting Soldier Jupiter and two cats. 
   "Didn't you guys see the elevator?" Jupiter asked. 
   "That doesn't matter. The building will collapse in one minute!" Luna told 
them. 
   Mercury shoved the disk inside the matter transporter. "There's no time to 
program it. We've just got to hope for the best." She pushed a button and a 
swirling black portal appeared just off of the edge of the building. 
   "We'll have to jump for it," said Mars. She went first, then Jupiter, then 
Venus, then Moon, then Mercury, then Miles. Darien was the last to go. Just 
as he jumped, the portal disappeared. He was falling toward the ground 
quickly and screamed his head off. Just before Darien hit the ground, the 
portal reappeared. Darien entered it. No one knew what to expect.

   Darien fell down on top of Miles. "Ouch!" the two yelped. 
   "Make a note, Ami. We transform back into our civilian clothes when we go 
through portals." Makoto said. 
   Miles hopped up, tossing Darien off in the process. "Where are we?" 
   "It appears to be some sort of parking lot," Ami commented. 
   "Well what parking lot is it?" Rei asked. 
   The group turned around and saw a large sign that read "Mall of America." 
   "Yes!" shouted Usagi. "We've hit the jackpot! Loads of cash and plenty of 
places to spend it! Let's go inside!" Usagi ran to the with the others 
walking behind her.
