        The Internet has been around for about 30 years, maybe longer.  Ranma
1/2 would have to be set in the '50s to be safely pre-'net.

I believe that he means pre-net as in pre-general use.  Sure, the
Internet has been around for about 30 years, but it wasn't until
1994-95 that it started to achieve general use (the rise of the web
had much to do with this).  You can't count the years of ARPANet and the
oldschool DOD stuff as "The Internet" as we quantify it today, IMHO.

p.s. If anyone has an IC quantifiable reason to use the net, I think it
would have to be Nabiki.  I can't see much of a justification for the
other characters.
