Bogue is far from my favourite author. But he (I'm assuming a gender)
has written a number of pieces that I've enjoyed; and several times he's
made me stop and think seriously about things I've taken for granted.
That's as useful as the FFML gets.
And why must a story be useful? Heck, what about Bogue's .sig (which I
like, btw) indicated that that was the point. He writes one thing until he
finds something better to write about. A good idea, sez I.
I meant "useful" in a _good_ way, actually. What I should have said is:
Bogue's fiction has both entertained me and provoked me to thought. I
don't think I could ask for more, and I think that both aspects _are_
useful. And the FFML, as a medium for distributing that fiction, has
served its purpose well.
As for the dual purpose of being a medium for inviting and distributing
C&C -- hell, this _is_ C&C.
But if this debate goes much further, I suspect it won't be C&C any more,
so I will herewith shut up.
