Interesting idea, but there seems to be something everyone's missed, or at least considered insignificant.

If Genma is playing the role of Heihachi, and Ranma is Kazuya... and then Genma adopts Ryoga as Ranma's 'Replacement,' that means Ryoga would be playing the role of Lee. In case people don't know/remember Lee, he was supposedly the 'Silver Haired Devil.' In practice, he was the Law clone with white hair that was harder to use. In other words, a wus.

Frankly, dipping into the anime (ugh, and was that a piece of trash...) for SOMETHING of a personality, Lee comes of more like Kuno than Ryoga. Ryoga, in practice, is probably most like Paul.

As to Jusenkyo curses, Ranma, if he has one at all, would need something that could emulate either Angel or Devil. Genma should fall into the regular Spring of Drowned Bear, insted of Panda. (Remember Kuma?) And whoever is Genma's trainee should get up close and personal with the Spring of Drowned Kangaroo. Or, if you really want to push Jusenkyo's history back, Spring of Drowned Velociraptor. (Rodger/Alex, anyone?)

Just some Top-of-the-head Brainstorming.
