Barker as in Clive Barker, the English author of the Hellraiser novels
and movies, the cult movies refered to in the chapter where Ranma & Ryouga
went on that incredibly funny date. He's easily one of the most horrific
authors writing today, and even the great Stephen King refers to him with
respect and admiration. He's written quite a lot, and if you WANT to suffer
from insomnia, I recommend his novels. Read one, and you WILL stay awake for
days. Even weeks. And you will never look at a dark corner of the room in
quite
the same way again. ^_^
