Finally!! Another chapter of a Fic that has really grown on me of late!
The next installment of "LT's" excelent adventure (or bogus journey,
depending on how you look at it), and definatly up to par with the first
three chapters of this story. The spelling and grammer, as usuall, are as
perfect as found in any gaming suplement. (HEH!) One of the nice things
about this whole story is that LT's very presence seems to lighten up what is
usually a very dark Genre. Its a shame that this has to be back burnered to
paying work, but then again, such is life. Kinda hard to work on your
computer when the electric company pulls the plug, no? Well crafted, as
always, and nice charecterizations to this point. About the only thing that
doesnt feel right is all through the first 3 chapters, LT and Lisa have been
very tight, yet in this chapter they don't interact at all... even BEFORE
Lisa makes the connection between LT and Doug. And for no apparent reason.
A minor concern a best, I suppose, since the general Angst on Lisa's part
over should she / shouldnt she tell the other Sabres what she knows about
Doug is probobly going to pop up in chapters 5 or 6. I do feel that adding a
small scene or two with Doug asking Lisa out and Lisa pleading overwhelming
workload would make this lack of interaction more believable.
On the other hand is the bit about the encryption circits. I guess its just
me, but somehow I thought that while Doug had added the better encryption
scheme, it wasn't active yet, sort of an unactivated undocumented feature. I
wasn't even to comfortable with Nene poking around with it at first, then I
realized that it falls under part of her combat duties as commo expert. I
also had the impression that the scheme was pretty much hard coded into the
set, not software, which then makes me wonder how Nene got the schema to try
and crack it in the first place. In the end, I suppose it really isnt a
major problem, since it doesnt strain the willing suspension of disbelief of
the story. It is something I personally wonder about though.
In the meantime, I personally hope that your able to get your paying projects
done soon... I for one will be waiting quite impatiently for chapter 5
