Okay, you managed to hit one of my pet annoyances right here. (Yes, I

Yes, some fics use the word 'grin' when something else would be better.
I doubt anyone would argue that this can happen. But just discussing
this in the abstract leaves me with no idea whether you think this is a
problem in any of my fics, and if so, which one(s); and I expect the
same is true for the other writers on this list.
It doesn't help much to say "X can be a problem in fics." If this is to
be of any use, you need to point out *where* you think it's a problem
when you see it. The writer of said fic might not agree with you, but at
least he/she will know what you're talking about.
So please, give specific C&C rather than vague general examples if you
want to be helpful. Think about it, won't you? This has been a
counter-rant; we now return you to your regularly scheduled fanfics.
