What a wonderful little trick.

If a poll supports my opinion, it is statistically sound. If it does not,
it is then unsound.

Son, there is a difference between a credible statistical analysis
and a fan-conducted poll. How many CNN Talk Back Live polls do you see
reflected in political campaign analyst reports? It is important to
recognize this distinction; maybe it will help some distinguish more
clearly the line between reality and gut feeling.

Man, I wish I could have used this technique in my labs, I would have had
much better results.

Tell me, exactly what "labs" do they conduct up at Saskatchewan in
statistical data procurement, analysis and dissemination? Possibly
we've reached a misunderstanding, as I feel that you are trying to
draw an analogy--a poor one at that--between an engineering or a core
science field.

Pres, your opinions are known. They reflect themselves in your work. But
refusing to accept the validity of a differing opinion is nothing more than
intellectual pig-headedness.

Jonas Fang, in his own post, stated that the results were meaningless
unless he procured a 100 or more statements. He failed his own standard.
He even pointed out in the final tally that the results themselves were
skewed by the procurement method. Those who wanted to participate did
so, and those who did not stayed away. How do you think special interest
groups affect policy? This is basic knowledge right out of
12th grade Government in New York State, and hardly an intellectual
exercise.

I pointed out the flaws in the poll and reemphasized Jonas' statements
regarding its shortcomings. I also pointed out that the poll in no way
contradicted or even addressed a single point I had argued. To back up
my claims, I provided already established data drawn from a variety of
examples with broad followings. That's unilateral intellectual
responsibility in my favor.

You have a right to your opinion. You have a right to make C&C based on

<rant on rights and non-rights and what-not deleted...>

Nor did I claim to have the power to force others to discount the results.
Truly, this reads too far into my position and assumes way too much.

I sincerely thank you for your opinion on the matter...
