I shall take this time to remark upon the strange occurances that
have forced me from my home. Perhaps I should also discuss exactly _why_
my being ousted from the house which I considered my home is so important
to me.
In America they say a man's home is his castle. It is much the
same way in Japan, even if you did not grow up in a home. In fact, if you
grew up on the street a good home and house with a loving family is so
much more important to you.
As it was with me.
Forgive me if I ramble. You see, my name is Saotome Ranma. I am
the age of nineteen, and have lived in the house of my fiance, Tendou
Akane, for two years. My sixteenth and seventeenth year. Within my year
of approaching manhood, a discovered an artifact that would apparently end
my curse.
Oh yes, I haven't explained that, have I?
My curse. Quite unfortunantly, I change form when I come in
contact with cold water (water below or at room temperature). I change
back when I come in contact with warm to hot water. It is the matter of a
magical curse inflicted on me by the Forgotten Springs of Jusenkyo.
Anyway, I came upon a... what's that? What do I turn into? A...
um... girl.
Alright! Yes! I turn into a girl! A redheaded, buxom young
lady.
ANYWAY! I came upon a small talisman. It gave the secrets of the
Jusenkyo curse, but first I had to desipher it. As Cologne was unable
to... will you please stop interupting me? I'll explain who Cologne is
later. Since Cologne was unable to disipher the talisman, we began a
search for someone who could.
In the end, I, myself, disiphered it.
It was painstaking work. I had to learn many upon many languages,
eventually discovering that the talisman held what were called runes from
a mixture of Norse and anceint Celtic languages. This was odd to me, as
the curse was Oriental, and the cure seemed to be Occidental.
Anyway, the talisman essentially told me that the way to rid a man
cursed with a Jusenkyo form-changing curse was long and tedious. But I
shall sum it down into five words. He had to be BLESSED.
So, with the talisman, I blessed myself, my father, Ryouga, and
the other who were inflicted with Jusenkyo curses, and we rejoiced when we
discovered that, at long last, IT WORKED!!!
For them.
As the caster of the 'blessing' it affected me differently. The
nature of the magic turned inside me and began to swell.
And can't say what happened exactly, because I am so unsure
myself. One moment I felt the magic in me, then next I was on a bed,
staring at the most beautiful face on a woman I had ever seen...
