Maybe I'm totally detached from the fan culture, or what folks
around here claim to be the fan culture.  Here's another interesting
claim.  Apparantly, in most instances the fan will respond negatively
to inconsistencies within the show--at least more so than the
casual observer.  Now I happen to know a hell of a lot about
Trek, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I dislike the series because
it's inconsistent.

Once again, if there's statistical evidence of this amongst the
reasonable fan culture, then I'd like to see it.  Show me the
numbers.
