	For every universe, there is an improbable one.  That is Earth was
blown up in one universe, but Japan remained in another.  But Japan was
diferent in one universe than the other and that's why one got blown up.
The improbability of someone from this universe ending up in that universe
is about an infinity times six against one.  Right about this time, Arthur
hit the computer hard.
	"I said where the bloody hell are we and why have we stopped?" But
the computer continued to sleep.
	" Where are we?!" He yelled, hitting a rather red button. "Oops."
	"Seventy-five million nine hundred ninety-nine seconds till
improbability..." the improbability drive announced.

	It was a pretty normal day for Ataru.  Get up, get zapped by Lum;
get dressed, get zapped by Lum; eat breakfast, get dragged- well flown- to
school; get to school, get hit with a desk by an angry Shinobu.
	Ataru yawned and rubbed the pulsating bump on his head where the
desk had landed.
	At least it's a fairly... Ataru's thoughts were cut short by a head
popping into his face.
	"Your face looks ominous today," Cherry said, "Today shall be a
very bad day for you."
	 Ataru beamed with anger, "My days are fine until you show up, you
bald freak!" he yelled, bashing Cherry with his notebook.
	 "Moroboshi!" the teacher yelled, "will you keep your pets at home
and not in your notebook!"
	"He's not my pet.  He's a no good lunitic munk who..." Ataru was cut
short by a loud crash outside of the school.
	"What the hell?" the teacher exclaimed, "Everyone sit down!"
Everyone jumped up and ran to the window.
	Outside a rather large spaceship was crashed.  Two rather humanoid
creatures emerged from the wreck outside of Tombiki High.  The feminine one
looked around anxiously.  Three other beings stepped out, one rather
humanoid, a robot, and a two-headed, three-armed man came out behind the two
humans.
	Lum looked to Ataru, "Darling, won't you go see who they are?"
	Ataru looked apalled, "Me?  Why me?"
	Mendo pushed back his slick black hair," Because the fair and gentle
Lum asked you too.  Not to mention, you are the class President and you know
aliens better than anyone else," he answered matter-o-factly.
	"And why does it have to be me, again?"  Ataru asked angrilly.
	Lum sighed, "Come on Darling." She grabbed Ataru's arm and began to
fly twords the aliens.
	"Hello down there!" she cried happily.
	Everyone looked up at the fling girl and the young man, who seemed
to be scared to death, and waved.
	"Hello!  Can you tell me who you are and where we are?" Ford Prefect
asked anxiously.
	Lum flew down and shook Ford's hand. "I'm Lum, Princess of the Oni
empire and this is my fiance, Darling," she smiled, "And you are in Japan."
	Trillian and Arthur gasped, "But Japan was blown up!" Arthur cried.
"The Vogons..."
	Lum yawned, "The Vogons?  Oh they were a piece of cake.  We just
transported Japan to another universe and back, when the Vogon's were
finished."
	Trillian thought about abou this for a momment, "Are you saying that
you saved Japan, but not the rest of the Earth?  Why not the entire Earth?"
	"Well we only had enough power for Japan," Lum answered.
	Arthur shook his head, " This is impossible," he sighed.
	"No," said Ford, "This is improbable."
	Lum suddenly turned her attention to the two-headed, three-armed
man.
	"Are you... Oh my... You are ex-president Zaphod Beedlebrox!"
	"Who?" asked Ataru, who was captivated by the beautiful Trillian.
	Lum turned to Ataru, "Zaphod Beedlebrox is the Ex-president of the
entire galaxy!
	He was impeached after he stole the Heart of Gold.." Lum went on.
	"Of course no one's heard of me.  I'm not famous.  I'm just a
depressed robot.  No!  Don't even try to talk to me.  I know you don't want
to. I'll just sit here and sleep." and with that Marvin shut himself off.
	"Have you ever thought of sending him to see a phsyciatrist?" Ataru
asked.

	About an hour later, the entire school was around the Heart of Gold
and its crew.
	"Are you saying you can have this fixed in a matter of an hour,
Lum," Ford asked Lum inspected the Heart of Gold.
	"Mmmhmm.  It shouldn't take more than an hour.  But if I do this,
you promise you'll leave and never come back?" Lum asked.
	"If that's your price, gladly," he answered.
	A sudden shriek came from Trillian.  "Get off of me!  Do you hear
me? I'm old enough to be your mother!"  Trillian cried as she threw Ataru
off of her.
	Ataru was about to jump back up and glomp Trillian, but found a
sword at his throut.
	"I, Shutaru Mendo, shall protect the lovely and fair Trillian from
you, Moroboshi!"  Mendo declared.
	"I can protect myself!" crieds Trillian.
	Lum looked at Ford, "Promise?"

	About an hour later, Lum came out from under the Heart of Gold.
	"All done!" exclaimed Lum proudly.
	Ford looked at her skeptically.  "All done?" he asked.
	"All done!" she giggled.
	Ford blinked a couple of times,  "I really need a drink, but," he
smiled, "At least we can leave now."
	Trillian and Arthur jumped up, "We can!"
	"Yep.  Lum got Eddie back on line.  So we can leave..."
	"and get some heavy drinks," Zaphod finished.
	Ataru and Mendo exchanged expressions, "You can leave, only if you
take the robot," they agreed.
	Marvin, who had been explaining his entire miserable life to all,
gave a miserable sigh.
	"Of course, I should of known."
	Shinobu watched the robot sadly.  "We meant no harm."
	"No, I know you hate me.  I'll leave and not say a word.  I don't
want to..."  Marvin began.
	Ataru grabbed the robot and tried to throw the robot on board.  "Go
away! Go away!" he cried.
	"I knew you hated me.  I'll just go shut myself off..."
	"Please!" Ataru cried.
	And there you have  one of the weirdest days for Ataru Moroboshi.
But, as the munk said, worst are yet to come.
	Zaphod Beedlebrox, Trillian, Ford, Arthur, and Marvin boarded the
Heart of Gold and took off, hopefully, to never see the people they had
encountered again.  Unfortunally, their wish would not come true.
