Ahem.  All right, the question is on the Nature of OOC and how 
important it is in a fict.
	In point of fact Consistance is less important in Ranma 1/2 than 
other storylines, in Ranma Consistancy has always taken a back seat to a 
good gag whenever necessary.  But even so, there is definately enough 
consistancy in the character's actions that we can identify fanfict 
actions as being IC, OOC, or of uncertain character.
	Ok, is it important?  The answer is that it depends on the fict.  
In general every instance where a character behaves blatently OOC without 
stated or implied reasons is like a stopsign, the reader pauses to go 
'huh?' and then goes back.  Basically the OOC bits are like speedbumps, 
they slow the pace of the fict for the reader, and if the rest of the 
story isn't able to pick the pace back up, the fict will loose intensity 
and the reader will decide it's not worth reading.
	Just trying to look at it without geting into character debating.
