That's one of the best titles I have ever seen
for a story idea.
thanks!

Okay, for anyone who's still around....
Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? Buut...this
isn't meant to
be a WAFFy "Akane gets better and gets Ranma" fic.

No, it's supposed to be sick and twisted
tragedy of errors, right?

Yup...
Akane is, sadly, starting from a false premise
here, that her
losing her temper is entirely her own fault, and all

I don't see her getting an idea like that
in the fragment you wrote...

It's implicit.

her voice. And she's
just stubborn enough to carry it off.

	True, I guess.
at least for the duration of the story...

Akane's made a change
in her behavior doesn't mean that the outside
pressures feel any need to
let up...especially as she doesn't bother to tell
anyone what she's up to.

	Darkfic in making...
Bingo.

	Probable reactions...:
Ranma is fine with "New Akane" for a couple of
starts trying ever more
stupid plans to get Akane's attention, ala
"Desperately Seeking
Shampoo"...

Another probable reaction: he might start
worrying about her losing confidence (He seems to hold
confidence even in his insults, and since most of them
are undeniable, why not?) in herself, and starts trying
maybe...
to "help" her with her martial arts, cullinary skills,
and other things she's inept at. But things of course
won't go smoothly, and Akane's frustration level goes
up anyway, while Ranma gets personal satisfaction from
this "noble" act.

yup...especially Ranma's idea of "help".

Nabiki, meanwhile, not wanting to be like her
counterpart in "the
Last Drop", notices Akane's unusual behavior, and
assumes that her little
sister has gone off the deep end. But what to do?

I don't know... Unless I'm mistaken, "The Last
Drop" referred to a certain angst fic by a certain
writer, and Akane's counterpart doesn't act like
this "new Akane".
Nope, but it *is* a severe change in behavior, much as the wife's in that
other story, and potentially just as bad...]\
 >
Ukyou only got to see parts of "The Last Drop", due
to having to
Unfortunately, she's not nearly as angelic as her
counterpart...

Some people are bound to disagree with this,
but being one of the few Ukyo-haters in galaxy, I don't.
Now, now, Ukyou's a nice person. Maybe not as saintly as sometimes
portrayed, but a nice person.

Kunou remains his oblivious self, but does worry
when Akane
doesn't punch him out anymore. He blames Ranma for
"crushing the
tigress' spirit."

Or he might assume that Akane finally decided
to show her love for him and became meek and sweet to
him, thus making him even more agressive.
She's not being sweet. Akane's spending too much time trying to
hold in her temper to be pleasant.

The other irritants remain much the same, including
Akane being
unable to make any advance in her weak skills.
(This story would fit in
some time between "The One to Carry On" and "An
Akane to Remember"...)

Which skill are you referring to?
Cooking, swimming, relative to Ranma martial arts...

And since Akane isn't able to release her negative
emotions
outwardly anymore, they turn inward and she starts
having medical
problems...

Urk. This is DESTINED to be ugly...
Un.

Anyway, I can't write a darkfic like this, but
I really like this idea too. Hope someone takes it.
Thanks!
