hehehehehe... looks like a TV producer in Ranma World got a hold of Zen's

Pretty much.  Just take out a couple of the more fantastic elements, and 
it'd be a sure-fire weepy miniseries.

        And since Akane isn't able to release her negative emotions
outwardly anymore, they turn inward and she starts having medical
problems...
