W.I.A.N?

a spur of the moment fic by Mark Ferrer

Author's note: Tell you the title in the beginning? I don't think so.

<Hmm, my hair's getting pretty long.> he thought, examining himself in the
mirror. <Oh well. I can always cut it later. Time for important things.>

With that, he fixed his hair in place and picked up his pack. Looking back
on his darkened room, he took a moment to reminisce on everything that had
happened to him ever since he visited Jusenkyo. Looking out the window, he
saw the stars which held infinite possiblities. Opening the window, Ranma
Saotome headed for his chosen fiancee.

The warm summer breeze blew Ranma's pigtail as he stood at the bottom of
Shampoo's window. He had planned to throw rocks at her window to call her
attention but that was out the door since her window was open to let the
breeze in. Seeing no other alternatives, he leapt up onto the windowsil.

Pushing aside the curtains, he saw the woman he had set his heart on.
Tiptoeing to the side of her bed, he marvelled at her beauty. He had never
seen anyone else more beautiful.

"Shampoo." he whispered, shaking her gently.

The girl stirred and slowly opened her eyes. It only took her a few
seconds for her mind to catch up.

"Ranma take Shampoo now?" she asked, glomping onto him.

Slightly surprised, Ranma choked out, "Y-yeah."

Shampoo smiled and kissed Ranma, pulling him to her bed.

Ranma vaguely understood what she was planning and broke off the kiss
before he lost control.

"Shampoo, not now. Not yet. Come with me." he said, looking deep into her
eyes.

"Where?" she asked.

"To your village. To Jusenkyo. I wanna get rid this curse and marry you."
he said, helping her to stand up.

"I go tell great-grandmother." she said, starting for the door.

"No. Don't tell her."

"Why?"

"I wanna do things my way. How can we show our love with her hanging
around all the time?"

"Okay."

Within minutes, two figures were jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The
red-shirted one leading the purple-haired one.

Shampoo felt like she was on cloud nine. Ranma had chosen her. After
everything, he'd chosen her. A nagging part of her mind wondered why all
the secrecy but another part reasoned that Ranma had just gotten tired of
other people trying to lead his life for him. She was so lost in thought,
she didn't notice where Ranma had led her to.

"Airport?" she asked dumbly, staring at the planes taking off and landing.

"Yup. Been saving these tickets to go to Jusenkyo. I had planned to
take... you know... but after thinking about it, I had to take you. How
could I have thought I loved anyone else." he said, putting his arm around
her.

"Aiya." she said, leaning onto her fiancee.

Ranma grinned as Shampoo took in the wonders of a jet-liner. She was
acting like her normal cute self in wonder of the technology. When the
stewardess haned her some earphones, she started going through the radio
stations that the plane could pick up. Ranma glanced out the window,
seeing that below them was all dark. The bright lights of Japan were
behind him and the small village of Shampoo's youth were ahead.

His was snapped out of his reverie when Shampoo waved her hand in front of
his face.

"Wh-what?" he asked dumbly.

"This Shampoo favourite movie. Watch with Shampoo." she said, thrusting
his headphones to him.

Ranma put on the headphones and plugged it into the armrest. He then put
the armrest back so that Shampoo could lean on him as they watched.

Snuggling close to Ranma, Shampoo started humming the movie's title theme.

Ranma cringed slightly. He had nothing against the movie. It was a great
story. Unfortunately, he wondered if he could stay in the position he was
in for three hours. Looking at the girl in his arms, he knew he could.

Shampoo and Mousse looked up at the night sky, watching the meteor shower
paint the sky with yellow streaks. They had decided to camp outside to
watch the stars when they were rewarded with nature's light show. Their
day had been spent, walking leisurely to the Amazon village.

Everything was so perfect. Shampoo had wondered if it was a dream but she
didn't care. She would sleep forever if she had to. Turning towards Ranma,
she saw his slightly tensed face.

"Something wrong?" she asked.

His eyes relaxed and he answered, "No, everything's fine. Perfect
actually."

"Good."

She rolled so that she was on top of him, nose to nose.

"Shampoo, I don't think we should do this yet." said Ranma, in a slightly
panicked voice.

"Why?"

"B-b-because. I-I- have to tell you something." he said, voice shaking.

Shampoo sat up, allowing Ranma to do the same.

"Shampoo, why do you love me?"

"Because you strong. Everything woman ask for."

"If I hadn't beaten you, would you have loved me?" he asked, worriedly.

Shampoo paused. This was new. "It fate we meet."

"On our way here, did you like it? Just the two of us?" Ranma asked.

"Yes, why?"

"Do you really love me?"

"With all Shampoo's heart."

Ranma reached back and untied his pigtail. "I've been thinking. Should I
cut my hair?"

Shampoo looked as Ranma's tightly strung hair unknotted in a wrinkled mass
behind him. "No. Shampoo like long hair."

"How about the front?" he asked, combing his hair straight.

As Ranma combed his hair down, she felt a sickening feeling wash over her.
<No, it can't be.>

"So. How do you like it?"

Almost instinctively, Shampoo's slapped him. Hard.

"The man you've been with today wasn't Ranma Saotome. I never pretended to
act like him. Just look like him. So tell me, who do you love?" he asked,
rubbing his cheek.

"Mousse..."

What's In A Name?

A one hour fic that just came to mind. If anyone wants to continue this,
they can. I probably won't continue this because I've got to finish
'ADBOM'.
