 Just a bit of C&C on "Children of an Elder God #8."  Well, C&C and some 
 random bits where I just make jokes.

 Interesting collection there.  Let's see...  

Also, just so you know, the collection of stars outlined up there is 
impossible to occur; a number of those things can't be in the sky at the same 
time. Granted, this is the Mythos, and they have Ghroth, but still, somebody 
would NOTICE that the laws of physics have suddenly contradicted themselves.

And I don't care what you say, John, but Gendo could NOT fit the bodies of 
all those "silenced" astronomers into his office closet.

Well, Polaris is Lovecraft's 

 favorite, associated with Hypnos and the Dreamlands.  I can't place 
 Algol...in Arabic it means "The Demon's Head."  

Algol is coruppted arabic. The correct form of "The Demon's Head" is Ra's 
al'Ghul.
Don't sweat it though, they manage to slip Alhazred through, and that's an 
even WORSE corruption.

 Heh.  The Elder Sign drained some of their MPs to power its protective 
 nature.

It's also important to note that this now radically alters the porperties of 
the Elder Sign (Rei shouldn't be able to get NEAR it, let alone touch it) 
which means that John is being creative again, which means we're flying 
blind. Should be interesting.
  

 Since you are calling Maya Ibuki and Makoto Hyuga by their first names, 

you 

 should also call Shigeru Aoba by his first name.

Actually, I support using the correct japanese form of their names. After 
all, it's how they refer to themselves, and we should respect that. I know if 
people started inverting MY name, i'd be upset.

 That meshes with the list on the CoaEG page (which needs updating, BTW).  
 Hastur, Yig, Tsathoggua, Y'golonac, Shudde-M'ell, Cthugha, Daoloth, 
 Nyarlathotep, Cthulhu, Azathoth.

Azathoth is not on the list, which means that R & J have added one we don't 
know about. Of course, Jet-Alone could always show up and count as an 
Angel.....

 Why would Shinji know this?  He has no interest in the occult or 

paranormal,  

 and is not noted for a particular interest in reading, and certainly not 
 reading sci-fi, fantasy, horror, history, or Forteana, the topics likely 

to 

 contain this trivia.

Remember, in the Lovecraft Universe, this isn't trivia; this is HISTORY. The 
Johannsen Narrative, Livre d'Eibon, al-Azif.... all those things are 
legitimate histoical tomes in this universe.

The CoC rulebook is NOT the final word on Things Lovecraftian. And keep in 
mind John has alreday broken it's rules concerning the Elder Sign

 I'll try to identify these names for the less Mythos literate (although

Here's a clue.... John made a lot of these up.

This is the Mythos!!! You're ALLOWED to make up new stuff when you write a 
new story!! Hell, the Mythos has such a jumbled internal continuity and 
inconsistency (The only way it's coherent at all is due to Chaosiums efforts 
to lump the stories into 'cycles') that you almost have to make new stuff up 
if you want to, or can ignore things if you want. Think Derleth was an idiot? 
Ignore his stroies!!!! Want the Elder Things to NOT be extinct like it says 
in MoM? Go nuts!!!! Think Randolph Carter is alive and well and living in a 
trailer in Memphis with Elvis and Salmon Rushdie? Do that too!!!  

 T'yog - An alien metal associated with immortality. (???)

Actually, Tyog is the High Priest of Shub-Niggurath in Mu. He tried to kill 
Ghatanothoa, put his priests weren't down with that, so they had Big G turn 
him to stone. See "Out of the Aeons."
  

 Actually, monoliths are not necessary to summon Hastur.  Set and costumes 
 for 'The King in Yellow' are all that's require if one has a copy of the 
 play.

And the next episode IS the school play..... this ain't good.
 

 Please note that I avoided making an Rei/nosebleed comments.  The world is 

a  

 better place for that.
