Perhaps "adulation" was too strong a word.

the simple fact is, I received only 2 responses from the list when I 
know there were at least 10 the previous time.... I wanted to see if 
there was anyone who was still interested in the stories before I 
posted them, yes, I do need C&C, but I am a bit... complex.
        I like to hear that people WANT the next episode before I 
actually post it, because if they don't, then what is the point? 

The point is, we're all in the same boat here.  Everybody wants to know
that their fics are being read, but it's a fact of the ML that people
don't always get responses to their fics, no matter how good they may
be.

Besides, after my previous post several people e-mailed me about 
posting it... so, I have come to the conclusion that fans lurk, and if 
you want to get them to UNlurk, you might need to be a little.. 
snotty, so to speak.

Being snotty only ticks people off.  In my experience, at least.  :)

        Apologies to anyone who thinks of me bitterly because of that 
previous post... I will now post (Txt) version of FCv2e4 to the list, 
so that I perhaps might improve it for ALL the readers.

That's good.  As I mentioned to Patrick (who mentioned that this
particular chapter was quite large), you might want to break it up into
portions of under 100K when you post it to the list so it doesn't
overload the server
