Opinionated rant ahead. You've been warned.

        Yessir, Gubby.

Okay, so I sit down after not getting around to checking my e-mail all day,
to see if anything good has passed across the list.

54 messages. Unusually long load (for me, since I check my mail
frequently), but I figured this would happen.

Waiting...waiting...damn. Someone's posted something huge.

I was asking that there be more demand because the damn thing is HUGE.

Delete all the rolling commentary on the Sailormoon thing, get down to this
FCv2e4 thing, notice there's been replies to this notice, read what's going
on, and I'm like, 'Damn. Who does this guy think he is, refusing to post
unless people ask for it?' (That kind of behavior is reserved for guys like
*me*, folks. EARN your ego first, THEN start acting like a prick. ^_^)

I was asking that there be more demand because the damn thing is HUGE.

Read the replies to that and all, and there's still a bad taste in my mouth
>from the first notice.

Then get down to the fic. And realize what it was that was clogging up my
mail server.

Hmm. What to do about this.

Delete, delete, delete, delete, delete...okay, that takes care of that
part. Killfile Kaoru L. Shimitsu...okay, much better. Won't have to worry
about that anymore.

I posted it because people told me to shut up and post it if I was going
to, instead of asking that people show more initiative and tell me that they
REALLY wanted it to be posted.

Extreme, you say? Hardly.

If you have a fic to post which is over 100kb, people, and which you intend
to break down into chunks for posting...

Don't post them en masse.

Post two, MAYBE three parts per day until you get the whole thing posted.

Dropping a load of messages into the server which total up to about half a
meg, and breaking it up into twelve separate messages (which wastes
bandwidth, makes a mess in peoples' inboxes, and generally irritates those
who aren't interested to begin with) is a very, very quick way to end up
having your fic padding the delete folder.

Same goes for people who like to post a mass deluge of their old fics, or
who have returned to work on an old fic and decide to repost the entire
thing. If it's big, and you plan to break it up into a lot of little
pieces, DON'T flood the list with the whole load at one time.

(Oh, and before people start flaming me...I didn't *really* killfile this
guy. I'll be tempted if he does it again, though...)

With all due respect (Repeated: With all do respect), I have noticed,
ELL, that your opinions are often unduly harsh and very snide. I am sure
there's a nicer person underneath your words, but I'm lookin'.

I will apologize to you personally for the size of the fic, but some
people told me to post it and not to "DEMAND" more posts that wanted the
fic. (Let me put it this way, it is bad economics to market something very
cumbersome to time, effort, money, or whatnot and not have a demand for it.
It's bad marketing, and bad management, hence my "DEMAND" of people to tell
me they "WANT" the fic was not to "SATIATE" my ego, it was to make sure
there were people on the list.. and ENOUGH people.. to post the story.)

One more time. That's an apology for the size of the fic, and an
apology for posting it all at once. I am very unexperienced in posting
things to the list (Messages, I have more experience with. Fics I do not.)

To make you feel better, ELL, it will be at least a month before you see
another one of my trash-clogging fanfics. Should make ya feel better.

With a modest amount of sincerety,

Kaoru.
