What you are asking the author to do amounts to rewriting the entirety
of Paradise Lost:  gradually shift the viewpoint _after_ our sympathy
for the devil has been engaged, so that we later see the devil for
what he really is.

If this was a philosophical tract, I wouldn't care if it was biased; but
as it is written, it strikes me as unrealistic and unconvincing as a
story.

Lucifer, however, to my memory never argues that God NEEDS him to rebel.
Dumont does, but Crystal Tokyo gets along just fine without him.  If you
put your arguments in such terms, and then they get along just fine
without you, it doesn't make one's arguments look very good.
