Milton, and those who wrote in the same vein as him such as Blake, Dante, and 
Vondel, got a LOT of facts wrong on their works; they "massaged" biblical 
canon in order to write a better story. For starters, they depict Lucifer as 
Satan; they are two completely different people (angels, whatever) and 
Lucifer, in fact, was never a member of the rebellious hosts and never fell 
from grace; if you beleive the canon, he should technically still be up there 
to this day.

This isn't to say that Milton can't be used to justify things 
philosophically, especially in this story; there are so many parallels that 
it would take me hours to go inot them if others hadn't already. I'm just 
saying that people who use him as a good Biblical source are wrong, wrong, 
wrong. (And I don't mean anything by that, Chris and John... ^_^;;;;) It's 
kind of a peeve of mine.

Oh, and can somebody forward me another copy of this thing? I was cleaning 
out my file manager a few hours ago and accidentally wasted the sucker before 
I'd read it as much as I'd wanted.
