My second reaction to this story isn't much better than my first, I'm
afraid. It still seems a bit too...forced. Rushed. It's as if the author
isn't really convinced of what he's got going on in this story, and is
trying to shove the plot down a hill as fast as possible so that he doesn't
have to dwell on it.

I also have a huge gripe about this, as I do with many fics which mix
Sailormoon with other series. (Davies, you might want to tune out the rest
of this message...)

Ranma, Tenchi, and other series were never butchered (although some might
disagree with that) for North American distribution...they were left more
or less intact, especially where character names are concerned. So over
here, we've got the Japanese names still in place, and all that.

The problem lies in people who persist in using the dub names of the
Sailormoon characters, locales, and elements. There's nothing wrong with
this as a rule (I personally have a problem with it, but that's just me),
but when you're writing a crossover, it seems jarring and incongruous to
have characters on this end named Tenchi, or Ranma, or whatever...and then
over here, characters who are also Japanese, and living in Tokyo, are
Serena, Lita, Darien, etc. It really doesn't mesh, and it makes for a
horrible, jarring read.

My opinion, of course. Feel free to print it out on toilet paper and flush
it if desired.
